I think you misunderstand how people think around here. None of the families want him to get executed. The mentality most people have in Norway is that execution is the "easy way out" for a murderer, and a very empty revenge for the offended parties which only serves to create more murderers.

Not to mention he very much wants to be executed, making him a martyr, and promoting his "cause".
