Trying to decide whether I want to get Dark Souls on Steam or boxed.

Of course, physical bonus content would make me go boxed regardless.

as far as I know modding is super easy on steam. You typically just have to put the mod in that games folder under the Steam folder

It depends on the game, but I've never seen an instance where Steam hinders it.

I think it works just like it would work for the retail version of whatever game you are playing. I know for Battlefront II you just have to create an addon folder in the game files somewhere.
