HBK is one of the most underrated talkers in the history of wrestling and for my money one of the top 3 ever.
Brilliant sample of HBK's brilliance. I mean, for a crowd to want to rip to pieces, that's real talent! And besides, HBK has always been golden in Canada.

GameFaqs....a place where people are friendly and nice to each other? You must live in a fantasy world.
The Type of Matches Each wrestler will battle each other ONCE in the series! These matches will take place over IMPACT WRESTLING on Spike TV and on TNA's live event tours across the country, with the point structure outlined above.
Standings and How to Win! The standings will be updated on ImpactWrestling.com. The standings will be "locked" on the September 6 edition of IMPACT WRESTLING on SpikeTV. The top point leaders advance to No Surrender PPV (9/9) for a one-night playoff to see who gets the Bound For Glory World Title Match!
I am so freaking glad that they fixed the biggest flaw with last year's BFG series: the inconsistency in matchups.
Knowing that everyone is gonna fight everyone 1-on-1 ONE TIME ONLY during the series really helps the fans follow and grasp the stakes of every battle.

What's this about Christian being on TNA? What exactly happened?
WWE used Flair at the HoF ceremony even though he was still a TNA employee at the time. This was their payback. They got to have Christian (Cage) come out at Slammiversary and speak on TNA's 10-year history and introduce the moment voted as the #1 moment in company history.

Now hang on Jakyl: based on those rules, are you telling me that anyone could run in on a match that the BFG leader is wrestling in, and attack the BFG leader's opponent, thus causing the leader to lose 10 points?

Technically yes.
But Vince Russo isn't employed anymore.

One thing I really liked about last year's was how Bobby Roode, normally a power wrestler, developed a submission move (the crossface) specifically to help his cause in the BFG Series, and it has since become a staple of his arsenal. That's great writing.
Then you have stuff happening like voltch's tag match example where only the winner of the fall got the points and it turned into stupidity. I hope no tag matches are involved this year. <_<

That might work. It would negate some of the inherent disadvantage to starting. Yeah if you come out last you have a better shot of winning the whole shebang, but you've also probably missed some point opportunities.

From: WarThaNemesis2 | #465 A heel doing that wouldn't be a Russo-esque move.
It happening like 8 times, yes, but once is just good heeling. I could see for instance, Bobby Roode, not wanting to face James Storm, PURPOSEFULLY gets him DQ'd so that the only way he makes the playoffs are winning by submission against like Samoa Joe or something.
That could make for a compelling James Storm match, which is no mean feat.

From: Jakyl25 | #469 A 12-man Round Robin would be 55 matches in total, over 2 1/2 months that's a lot!
I think its brilliant that they gave themselves the live event out. Who really want to see, a month or so in, #9 in the standings fight # 11? Plus this lets them fill tv with the compelling stuff AND probably sells live event tickets as well ( Watch as MATT MORGAN takes on SAMOA JOE in a BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH).

I haven't gone through all the Superstars records (he did have a few Superstars matches in the last year, certainly more than on Raw or SD) but I'm gonna guess zero.

I actually didn't really like the 12 Large Summit "Block A/Block B" format but I understand why it existed (just not enough shows to do a full 12 man round robin).

4 groups of 4 (Blocks A-D). 2 points for a victory, 1 point for any type of draw (double countout, double DQ, time limit etc), 0 points for loss.
After each guy wrestles his 3 matches (that's a total of 24 matches I believe), you use the point totals to determine seeding in the knockout tournament stage:
And I'm actually surprised you didn't like the separate block format. It's pretty much been the only way wrestling has done it since Best of the Super Juniors set the precedent.
Hulk Hogan @HulkHogan This Thursday IMPACT LIVE will start with Austin Aries defending his title in an Ultimate X match!!! Thursday 8pm Live on Spike. HH
You know, Hogan, one way to make the match meaningful would be to announce his opponent(s).

It just feels a little unbalanced to me. If you're gonna run it like that, I feel like the Block winners should have a 2-out-of-3 series or something.
EDIT: To flesh that out for, what I mean is that the entire purpose of a Round Robin as opposed to just a flat-out tournament is to avoid flukes. Someone can have a bad night or not match up well against one guy and still be the best person in their group, and Round Robin allows for that to play out.
To follow that up with a SINGLE MATCH for the title seems almost contradictory.
On a side note, it's also a little weird to me that they seemingly don't have any system in place for earning title shots yet. Now Dasher Hatfield is getting one!

I actually haven't been following until I have time to catch up on the DVDs, but I'd imagine they're just gonna give arbitrary shots like the Young Lions Cup (without the age limit). It would be kind of overkill to have a points system for a singles title, it would be mayhem.
One knock I have against the separate block thing, and this is only because CHIKARA chose to book it this way, is that Eddie Kingston was mathematically locked into the finals and Block B still had like 10 matches left. I think a lot of that had to do with Brodie getting hurt though.
