HOW TO PLAY:
- Simply vote in the character you think will win in an actual fight. This is not a popularity contest.
- If you don't know a fighter, don't vote on the match unless you at least research the unknown character(s).
- You can only vote once per battle.
- The winners will be the character(s) with the most votes after ~24 hours.
HOW IT WORKS:
- There are five divisions the characters are broken into: Grand, High, Mid, Low, and Pathetic.
- Each character is given a numbered rating from 0-100, with 100 being highest. This number determines what division the character fights in. 0-19 being Pathetic, 20-39 being Low, 40-59 being Mid, 60-79 High, and 80+ Grand.
- Each tournament features 16 fighters from each division, randomly chosen by a random number generator.
- Every win adds one point to the character. Every loss subtracts one point. In rare instances, I will adjust ratings for the benefit of the game. For example, Princess Peach is given a starting rating of 70, but has lost in the first round of all 7 tournaments she entered. I will then adjust her rating so she fits into a division where it would be more entertaining to vote on her battles. This specific instance with Peach did not happen, its just an example.
THE ROSTER:
- Currently there are 684 characters.
- Characters are added by all of us. I add a majority, though every person voting in the last round can add 5 characters to the roster with their own ratings. Granted, I will adjust something crazy like Tweety 100. I have been entering fighters on ratings that are multiples of 5. This is not required.
- Your additions can be any video game character. If they have appeared in a video game they are options. The ONLY restriction on this is that if you enter an athlete or celebrity of some sort they must be on the cover of the game they are in.
- The following tags are extremely rare. Some characters will be missing, killed, or retired. Missing means I don't remember who they are, I leave them missing because when I post rosters I hope someone will have suggestions on their identity. Killed, which shouldn't be used anymore unless I make a mistake, are characters who were never in a video game, or a sports athlete who never made a cover. Retired, which has not been used yet, will be to retire fighters who the community or myself feel are not worthy of continuing. For example, the L Block from Tetris is not really a fighter, and has been considered for retirement before.
