doubt it, nintendo is trying to distance itself from metroid at this point...honestly my inner conspiracy theorist is starting to think that they put sakamoto up to it and intentionally made other m awful, the metroid franchise would have been pretty problematic because it consistently gets high ratings and has an extremely dedicated fanbase, but doesn't sell particularly great either and nintendo now views anything that doesn't sell millions of copies as a failure. they kind of needed to run it into the ground given what their goals are. just everything I've read from sakamoto otherwise...he seems like a bright guy and especially on the subject of metroid, what he's said in the past makes it hard for me to believe the same person could be responsible for other m, it's not even consistent with his own philosophies

Of the mini-Wii games, Crossbow Training was far and away the best one. Followed by any of the other three (Sports, Play, Resort) because who cares...Crossbow Training was awesome.

...In fact my most played Wii games were probably that and Umbrella Chronicles.

You know what I'm kinda surprised ISN'T a Wii U launch window title? Some kind of HD Collection. Mario Galaxy 1/2 HD for example.

It would really be if nothing else a nice side-by-side graphics comparison to demonstrate the upgrade from the Wii.

(Although I guess if they really wanted to do that they could just put NSMBWii and NSMBU side-by-side)

I was thinking about the comments about MS leaving Sony behind a bit. I think this generation was a very intriguing one in terms of what the market really looks like. MS going after America, Nintendo going after moms, Sony slowly soaking up the rest. Vita seems to be grabbing western style games, but I don't think that's a strong market for a handheld in America or Japan.

Sounds like the Nintendo launch games are 720p instead of 1080p. Pikmin 3 runs at 60FPS, though. I've heard this has no multiplayer at all, which is weird.

A lower resolution allows you to do more, usually. 720p let's you push the system harder instead of giving up power to resolution. Why a game like NSMBU isn't 1080p is strange since it isn't demanding.

Next gen we'll be streaming 720/PS4 content to whatever phone/tablet we want to. With SmartGlass it's all but confirmed, and I'm just taking the next leap and thinking that Sony will make that available as well.

I mean the parts of games that have any real value being on a tablet, like reading through some lore, looking around maps, maybe inventory management, drawing stuff (custom Madden plays etc). Anything else from consoles really just belongs on the TV screen, and I don't think they will try to throttle games by what they can stream to an app.
