oh god please don't let Parise sign with the Kings. Not only is Parise one of my favourite players in the league, but the Kings are already amazing.
If they let their RFAs go, they'll have enough money to make an honest effort at it. Personally, I think he'll re-sign with the Devils. But it's really amazing how the Kings are going to be in such good shape next year to make another run at it. For as much talent as they have on this roster, they don't really have cap issues...

I really believed it. The way they finished the regular season losing two in a row to the Sharks when ONE win would have clinched the seven-seed and a first-round against St Louis (who they absolutely would NOT have been afraid of). I didn't think they had a prayer of getting through Vancouver
I think they were better off facing Vancouver in the first round if what you say is actually true. They had to prove to themselves that they could beat the team they were most afraid of. Once they did, there was absolutely no one else that could stop them.
I thought the exact opposite about the Kings facing Vancouver. I figured they were the team that the Kings could rattle the easiest, and that they had a shot of winning the series if they could establish good physical play.
Then they absolutely shattered my expectations on that front. Brown's hit on Sedin is easily my favorite of the season
Kings getting the 'Nucks in round one was awesome. Everyone knew going in that Luongo wasn't going to get the job done, and Daniel being out for a few games helped a lot too. They would have been a tougher opponent in R2 or 3.
gotta love watching everyone pass the cup around. i always turn off the tv like 5 seconds after the game is over for the other sports (unless my team wins) because who cares. the cup is the best.
This. So very much this. For some reason I am compelled to watch the Cup ceremony, something about it gives me chills. If it's a team I like it's glorious, if it's a team I don't like... I still enjoy watching it a lot. I find it quite cleansing, actually, to see these guys on top of the world; at worst, it's humanising for a "hated enemy" team. Hockey players are generally pretty awesome guys and there's only a few I'd be actively unhappy to see lift the cup.
For the Kings overall I am pretty neutral, but I must say how proud I am to see Willie Mitchell lift it (and to be the first recipient at that). The guy is so good at what he does and so rarely gets the respect he deserves.

Whoo 2003. I love how I noticed a Devil knocking out a Duck in the middle of the ice and I immediately knew it was Scott Stevens despite not remembering the specific hit and not yet seeing who it actually was giving the hit. Augh JSG winning Conn Smythe. But whoo, I needed that tonight. These moments are so hard to come by, and they must be cherished. I'm fortunate that I've seen my team lift the Cup on three different occasions. I really thought we were destined for a fourth this year, but the Kings' destiny was greater this year. I'm certainly pretty damn disappointed right now, but it was a great run, and I have to be happy about how this year and these playoffs went for the Devils.

That's when Stevens knocked the **** out of Kariya, then later Kariya comes back and scores.

Since the Devils already have three cups they didn't deserve to win this at all. The Kings have never gotten one so it was way better for them to win. It would have been terrible for the Devils to win.
Try being a fan of a team that has never won a cup at all.

The Hunger Games>Mockingjay>Catching Fire Majora's Mask won GotD. Deal with it.
Yeah that is pretty terrible logic Shadow. And from a pure business standpoint it would have been MUCH better for New Jersey to have won since they are going bankrupt. The Kings will always be fine financially because of the market they play in.
And the best team deserves to win. That was L.A. this year, but the Devils managed to win 4 straight then they clearly would have deserved to win.

You seem to be confusing a team deserving a win with a fanbase deserving a win. I can't feel sorry for Devils fans, because you're right, they've already won plenty. But the TEAM, as in the actual players and the organization, deserves it just as much as anyone.

From: ShadowHalo17 | #337 I still don't get it. A team and its fanbase kind of go hand in hand to me. People on one team will join a rival's team if the money is there, so this isn't true.

Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards.
The best thing about these playoffs is that I won my family hockey pool and a sweet $130 pay.

Thinking Luigi and WAAAA > Pokemon Trainers was dumb, and Pokemon rocks. In other news, Valve is a pretty f***ing terrible company, let's be honest.
