Just kick out the eggs you don't want. But I always keep a Black and a Red, since their Ignore Height leads to fun on some maps (like Zeltennia, where they can leap 30 panels straight up to get at the boss)

But you can get Ignore Height with humans anyways. Better yet you can get Teleport, which has innate Ignore Height and ignoring any other obstacles between you and your destination.

And for anyone who doesn't know, Teleport never fails if you move with in your character's Movement range (including equipment, so shoes still matter), and supposedly has a 10% * amount past Movement range if you do go past it to fail, though I swear I have worse odds than that. But at 10 past Movement I have definitely always failed.

I will admit the animation is more amusing with Ignore Height in Zeltennia. But it serves no practical advantage unless you just really don't want to spend time getting a Time Mage ability. (And even then, I'd only consider it for someone I intend to actually use as a Lancer. It really isn't that much faster to get.)

Getting Teleport requires *far* more effort than ending up with Chocobos, which as noted, you will likely have anyway whether you want to or not

Well, true, but I never found Black Chocobos all that great on their own, and riding a Chocobo essentially means you're fighting with one less character. And I seem to recall all Chocobos including Red (and most early monsters in general) not scaling well with level.

I mean if you just want the lulz in Zeltennia, sure, but Teleport is always incredibly useful. Having at least one character with it is very helpful, and having it on Ramza can be a lifesaver on a few occasions.
