Recently someone made a topic asking what sort of Save My contest they should host. I suggested that they give the board a rest and opt out of the gig entirely, but of course they did not listen.

Seriously, there are too many of them lately. And I clearly don't hate them as much as some of you... but hot damn.

yeah I was not joking. I mean, I have some other stuff blacklisted but almost all of it has to do with OT so I knew that's not what was going on here

hell, I actually have 30 topics on the front page of OT right now. it's a sad day when the front page of OT has more quality than the front page of board 8. it's like my entire worldview has been reversed.

then change the settings of that group to either Remove Topics or Remove Messages

unfortunately you can't do both but you can make two groups that are the same thing and set one for topics and one for messages, so yeah. essentially the same thing.

why do you have all the >letters filtered

crazyisgood likes to bump all the Save My topics long after no one has posted in them because he enjoys being an annoying twit. That's probably what happened.

That one's not a bad idea, actually, though you could save space and just make it ">" or maybe ">*' if GameFox works with wildcards.

it's also very specific. so for example 'save my' will block out save my contests but not anything with just 'save' or just 'my' in the topic title. conversely, 'nng' will block out hnnnggg no matter how many n's or g's they use (it's genius of me to have come up with this, I know) and adding the string of '>a, >b, etc.' will block out anyone who does that dumb 4chan post thing (because it hits any post with a > followed immediately by a letter) but won't remove every single post with a letter of the alphabet.

actually the reason I noticed him is because he tends to post really weird stuff in response to me in either topics I make or topics where I post.

I've been wanting to do a Save My Devil Survivor Characters for awhile, but I just haven't wanted to do it while there are still so many active ones... I keep waiting, but more keep being made. >_>

Well I lost over 20 topics when I blocked it a while ago.

Also people blocking Save My topics doesn't hurt other people's enjoyment. In fact, quite the opposite! People who dislike them not seeing them makes it so there are less people to complain!

Blocking them is fine, if that's what you need to do. Making a topic whining about them is pretty lame though, and something someone the TC has blocked does almost weekly (Strahax).

not normally, voltch linked me to it and told me to vote! the thing about highlighting groups is that if someone links you to a topic that you've removed, you can still get into it. sometimes the OP is missing but that's it.
