#55 Hiroki Kikuta - Never Ending Night

By Anagram

I feel like this could be so much better as there's something holding it back but I can't place my finger on it.

#54 Mat Zo - Bipolar

By thundersheep

My brother walked in while this was playing and he said "I'm glad you're finally listening to good music" (he's a big of... electronic? Is there an all-encompassing term for this?) Bea is pretty nice and I'm sure it would be fun at a club but it's harder to just sit around and listen to this.

#53 Black Hippy - I Did It For Hip Hop

By CoLDReaMMaster

I do enjoy Kendrick but he wasn't enough to save this. Decent track though.

#52 4c0 - Tailor Shop at Enbizaka

By Raka_Putra

I like this more than your others because it actually feels like a real song and the production is nice.

#51 Jonas Steur & Jennifer Rene - Still I Wait (Richard Durand's In Search of Sunrise Mix)

By thundersheep

As you all have been seeing, I'm a sucker for any [good] female vocalist so she really bumped this song up even though the beat ain't too bad itself!

#50 Stan SB - Tears In Rain

By SSBDarren64

I wasn't sure what to make of this at first. I do like it.

#49 Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight

By Bobpsychopaat

I feel like I was the only person who didn't grow up listening to the Smashing Pumpkins so this is all new to me. I love the video, great tribute to Georges Méliès's movies. I swear blink-182 copied the intro for All The Small Things or is that just me?

#48 The Beach Boys - In My Room

By Mega Mana

The Beach Boys have really grown on me the last few years and this is a very nice song.

#47 Nico Nico Douga Orchestra - Nanairo Nico Nico Douga

By Raka_Putra

This video is awesome. Look at these guys! Wow. At first I thought oh goodness here's 14 minutes of something. Pieces sound familiar, are they pulled from VGs?

#46 REO Speedwagon - Roll With the Changes

By Mega Mana

...from Cabin in the Woods correct? Of course this would be on your mine since you've seen it so many times! Pretty solid although I forgot where it was played. But I do like it!

#45 Beardfish - Coup de Grace

By SSBDarren64

This was a nice 9 minutes. Very fresh.

#44 Brendan Benson - The Alternative to Love

By Cokes

Nothing special but I liked its flow.

#43 Broken Social Scene - Stars and Sons

By ZaziGuado

BSS is another band I've grown to like this past year so this helps the placement hear as I've heard it a few times. Not in my favorites though.

#42 Steely Dan - Bad Sneakers

By TheCodeIsBosco

I think you called this as your first song to go correct? I really enjoyed parts of it but it was a little dull in others.

#41 The Cardigans - I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need to Be Nicer

By SuorGenoveffa

I'm really digging the girl that I'll probably look into their other stuff. This definitely sounds like a song I've heard before. Do they have any other hits?

Oh they sure do:

These three are their biggest hits, I believe that they did their best work with their last two albums though:

I love the way Nina Persson interprets her songs and I really like her lyrical style. She also has a solo project (well, kinda):

And was featured in a Manic Street Preachers single:

She's at her best with the band though, but sadly they've been M.I.A. for seven years now <_<.

Yes, Sweden and Northern Europe in general actually have many great groups and singer-songwriters. 4/5 of my noms are related to Scandinavia if you notice :P.

#40 Rameses B - New Horizons VIP

By SSBDarren64

so magical, this would be a good go to song if I'm feeling down.

#39 Mew - 156

By SuorGenoveffa

Not how I expected it to progress after that great opening but it was pretty good.

#38 Emile van Krieken - Aether 4

By todbot1

Another great song I can throw on in the background. Not sure how much playing time it would get if I was just listening to music.

#37 Curtis Mayfield - So In Love

By The CodeisBosco

Not quite #1 as you predicted but nothing to be ashamed of here. I do like it but it's not my go to genre.

#36 Miike Snow - Black and Blue

By mcflubbin

Whenever I went back tot listen to this I always thought it was some rap song but it's not! And it's kinda awesome actually.

By Icon

Aww yeah a new girl group. Not bad at all but they don't hold a candle to The Ronettes. Although I should probably look into more of their stuff. That'll be fun!

#34 The Band - Across The Great Divide

By VincentLauw

Fun song that I can sing along to. Catchy!

#33 Victor Vergara - Ancient Stories

By todbot1

I'm sure if I was playing an RPG and this came on I'd set the controller down to bask in its greatness.

#32 David Arkenstone - Road to the Faire

By todbot1

Beautfiul Celtic music is always great.

#31 The Beach Boys - Kokomo

By todbot1

Definitely catchy but not near the greatness of God Only Knows/Wouldn't It Be Nice/Good Vibrations

#30 Jónsi – Animal Arithmetic

By Bobpsychopaat

I have heard this before so it gets a little help. I do prefer Jonsi doing Sigur Ros stuff more than this solo stuff but I do wish he'd bring some of the more exciting things he does here back into the duller SR stuff as of late.

#29 Common - Faithful

By TheCodeIsBosco

This was really low on the first listen. Like in the 70s! Something just clicked on the next listen and it might be one of my favorites by Common (who I don't really care too much about) right behind I Used to Love H.E.R.

#28 Florence and the Machine - Seven Devils

By Justin_Crossing

JC, you finally lose one. I love Florence so this was pretty easy. Probably a mid-tier song on her new album though.

#27 Foo Fighters - Everlong

By Great_Paul

I've heard this song many times over the years and I like it more today than I ever have. Might have to finally check out these guys.

#26 Goldfrapp - Little Bird

By SuorGenoveffa

I was thinking another Swedish group but it looks like they're from the UK. Great stuff.

By SSBDarren64

Quite soothing and definitely something I can see myself putting on.

#24 Titus Andronicus - To Old Friends and New

By Cokes

I remember disliking these guys when I first heard them but it's actually.... good!

#23 Grouper - Heavy Water / I'd Rather Be Sleeping

By WingedInsignia

I really dig their A I A double album so it was nice to hear something earlier(?). Better check the rest of this out!

#22 Jay-Z - December 4th

By TheCodeisBosco

Jay-Z is weird for me. I don't remember liking his albums too much but there are certain songs I like. This really stuck out to me though so I might have to revisit them.

#21 Spin Doctors - Two Princes

By PrestonStarry

By Bobpsychopaat

I feel like I was the only person who didn't grow up listening to the Smashing Pumpkins so this is all new to me. I love the video, great tribute to Georges Méliès's movies. I swear blink-182 copied the intro for All The Small Things or is that just me?

No, I have the official tab books for both albums and they are not only in different tuning, but All the Small Things uses more C chords and Tonight, Tonight follows G and E patterns (I'm not an expert on guitar but it says which chords are used for each song, and they are different if what I said makes no sense)

#19 Tilly and the Wall - Chandelier Lake

By thundersheep

Fun song. I'll look into these guys.

#18 Kazuki Yanagawa - The Wind's Blooming Mountain

By MycroProcessor

Beautiful song, almost makes me want to play the game.

#17 The Who - Baba O'Riley

#15 Blink-182 - What's My Age Again?

By 20three

This video is still hilarious after all these years. And wow, there's no way anyone would get away with having that child in there this day and age. I still like this song a lot and it's right there with Adam's Song and Rockshow as my favorite but I don't like it as much as I once did.

#14 Of Monsters and Men - King and Lionheart

By Justin_Crossing

After hearing Little Talks I went and got their album and I'm digging it. This might be the next best song on there.

#13 Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Counting Down the Hours

By Cokes

I remember liking these guys when you recommend their album to me a year ago and for some reason I stopped. This song is awesome.

#12 A$AP Rocky - Palace

By TheCodeIsBosco

I have heard this album before and didn't really care for it so when I saw this I'm like.. ugh. But man this is ****ing hard. I'm not sure what it is but I have to go back and get it.

#11 Tom Waits - Step Right Up

By Cokes

This song jumped the second highest of all the songs. I originally marked it down as a typical Waits song but the second listen did something because I'm hooked on it.

I agree that Faithful grows on you with repeated listens. Listening to Be for the first time, I found that songs like The Corner, Chi City and It's Your World popped out more... but Faithful's become my favorite over time.

This is my third favorite Bond song. Die Another Day and Goldfinger are better. In fact, this really makes me want to watch Goldeneye again.

Goldfinger is definitely better and that was my first choice, but I've been digging Goldeneye lately and felt like giving it a nom. Surprised it's only #70, but I'm noticing that you've got some excellent quality noms in here. Quite a few of the songs I've listened to wouldn't just make top 50, but probably top 30 on the list I did a few months back. You are well liked, =P

Now this isn't too bad, sounds like it would make a nice intro to a VG. Is this Power Rangers in Japan?

Not just any Power Rangers, but the best Power Rangers. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

Here's a small taste, WITH Kaizokuki wo Agero!

...from Cabin in the Woods correct? Of course this would be on your mine since you've seen it so many times! Pretty solid although I forgot where it was played. But I do like it!

It's from when they're all partying downstairs while Kristen Connolly's getting thrashed on the screen behind them all. Pretty awesome song, but even better when you hear the lyrics: "So if you're tired of the same old story, ohhh turn some pages." So appropriate for this movie.

Wow, all 7 gone by #45? Was not at all expecting that! Damn! I can't complain too much though. You've got a ton of kickass nominations. I'm happy to have beaten "Tonight, Tonight" with two songs. When "Tonight, Tonight" is #49, I don't care whether you grew up with them or not, that means the list is filled with 8/9-rated songs.

--
Grumble grumble, my list was filled with 3/4-rated songs. #56 was Game of Thrones Main Title, which while better than its placement suggests, would still rank b

#10t Amplive - 1940 Remix
http://m.soundcloud.com/gwballentine/amplive-the-submarines-1940
By Justin_Crossing

How good is the original version?

#10t Massive Attack - Paradise Circus

By Slanted_Silver

Massive Attack is generally pretty good but I love all their songs when they bring in vocals. I know Elizabeth Fraser did a lot for them in Mezzanine but I don't think this is her is it?

#9 Röyksopp - What Else Is There?

By SuorGenoveffa

this girl is beautiful. wow. And the song is just the right kind of creepy.

#8 Florence + The Machine - Only If For a Night

By mcflubbin

As mentioned early, I love me some Florence. Especially when she does this loud, build-up songs. Third best song on the album behind Shake It Out and What the Water Gave Us.

#7 Avicii - Levels

By ZaziGuado

Hey, I was hoping Flo Rida just sampled something because his rapping is horrible so it's nice to have this all by itself but another cool beat to go along with it.

#6 Beirut - Scenic World (Lon Gisland EP version)

By VincentLauw

I recognize this song and that's because Macklemore just came to my campus and played Irish Celebration. Kinda sucks that he sampled it. Anyway, if there other stuff sounds this good I'll look into them.

#5 John Rzeznik – I’m Still Here

By Justin_Crossing

This is one of my favorite Disney songs, easily a top 5. I replaced Goo Goo Dolls because I spent years finding this song to listen to because it wasn't available to download anywhere (this is before Youtube obvs) and I still love it. Great song.

#4 Jean Michel Jarre - C'est La Vie

By MyrcoProcessor

I wasn't sure what to expect here. I thought it would be a typical electronic remix thingy but man when that girl comes on it's really something special. Nice recommendation, this was amazing.

#3 Kahn - Like We Used To

By Icon

Soooo much going on here but it really works. Can't stop listening to it and will definitely look into more.

#2 Hirasawa Susumu - The Girl in Byakkoya

By Raka_Putra

Okay this is kinda cheating because I've heard this before and I fell in love with it while watching the movie. It's amazing, extremely catchy and something I love putting on to cheer me up. Definitely the best song from the soundtrack although there are many others.

#1 M83 - Midnight City

By ZaziGuado

Another song I've heard and absolutely love so an easy #1 pick. Love the trumpet or w/e it is at the end when it all comes together. Funny thing is that I originally didn't care for it too much but one day I just sat and had it on repeat for hours. Incredible.

My songs did much better than I thought they would, although I'm a bit surprised with the placing. I find it hilarious that my favourite song from high school did the worst and my favourite at this moment did the best. Alo good to see that you were exposed to "Levels" I'm still kind of shocked that it became such a huge hit with Flo-Rida vocals... I wouldn't even call it Avicii's bst song... not even his best song with added pop vocals (Seek Bromance) but whatever. I just wish he had gotten a credit on the track.
