jeez what a fan, declaring loss already. italy isn't even that good this year jeez.
We have literally never beaten a previous WC winner in a major tournament (outside of England). Even in Italia 90 we beat, like, Cameroon and Belgium.

History suggests we will lose. Stastically a win today would be a miracle.

btw I'm English, we are generally pessimistic about such things. As opposed to the insufferable, obnoxious, over-the-top stuff that dominates American support.

Footballers are utter bellends across the board. Generally they are just... bad human beings. So like, Gerrard is obviously a c***, but then so is <Italian Player X> and <Portugese Player Y>. Our players being bellends doesn't make us the bad guys because in football it's basically the minimum - they're all idiots.

England will probably win in PKs. Italy isn't known for flashy scoring and Joe Hart is a wonderful keeper. It favors them, so the play of defense is smart.

Italy's inability to score is laughable, but their midfield play, creativity, and domination of possession prove them the better side.

I support two teams (Tottenham and England) that have done nothing but disappoint for years. Tottenham's recent improvement has brightened things a little, but they've got a long way to go before they make up for years of disappointment
