Bow, POlearm and 2H Axe are garbage, everything else actually looks really nice.

Chest might not be able to sell, but then again with 200+ DEX (slotted) and a high +Armor it should be pretty strong too.

And yeah slot that staff with a green gem and equip that bad boy.

Well, while the extra damage was indeed nice, it loses me 120 resist, almost 2k armor and whatnot.

I'm throwing it up on the ah for now. If it sells, awesome. If not, i'll pull it out for boss fights in 4p or something.

Well, the staff sold. I think I probably could have put it up for more, but after checking similar stat items and what they were listed for, I put it up at 700k buyout. Oh well. Yay for my first 30k+ sale even if I could have gotten more.

So, I went from 13k dps to 12k dps.

But in doing so, I jumped up to 600 resists, 36k health, 68% damage reduction w/ 48% dodge.

Hell beaten (Hell Diablo was much easier than Nightmare thanks to better gear). Hell Butcher was officially the toughest fight I've had so far, which is pretty weird now that I think about it.

Time to start Inferno!

Inferno Belial was the most challenging boss I've had to fight so far. Other than that, I had trouble against Normal Diablo, Inferno Ghom, and...that's it. I've died once or twice against some of the others, but that was usually getting one-shotted carelessly or something.

Inferno butcher has probably given me the most trouble on my wizard. He just *hates* me.

I can solo him pretty effectively mind you, but throw a few more people into my game and suddenly his hooks never miss and i'm insta dead -_-''


And Ghom seems to actually be challenging now with the increased smog. I would not want to fight him as melee anymore.

Act 1 hell done with Wizard (who has surpassed my original demon hunter)

Starting to get annoyed by stupid deaths/damage. Literally went from 100% to 7.1% health from 2 khazra traps next to each other because I wanted to see how much damage they did.

Also just out of curiosity, got a 670dps (1h) weapon with level reduction (60 down to 50) for 350k. Good deal or s***ty deal?

Er..... I'm pretty sure I got the nifty 2h, 771 DPS staff that carried through Hell for much, much less. Less than 100K, to be sure. Sounds like you got ripped off.

At 60, you can get a 950 DPS 1Her for 300,000 and a 1300 DPS 2Her for 300,000. 1H weapons have a lot less DPS than 2H weapons.

Of course I know that, but I still think it's a bit of a ripoff. I just bought a 1000 DPS staff with 100+ intel for 50-60k (and I'm sure I could've gotten a better deal if I had spent more time refining my search). It's a 2H, sure, but that's still less than 20% the price Machete bought his weapon.

1.Solfadore/Nevest our games are getting more fun each time. Here's the gist of 99% of our games:

A.Nevest's Barbarian suffers because we all spam tons of abilities so Electric Affixes dunk him.

B.We have no concept of dodging Frozen Balls at all so everyone gets caught. Every. Single. Time.

C.We kill Molten/Desecrator mobs and Nevest stands right on top of them and dies. Every. Single. Time.


2.Solfadore(And Other Witch Doctors) I'm trying different ways of making Witch Doctor fun again. Darts is a Really, Really Poor Man's Demon Hunter, Corpse Spiders requires a crap ton of Attack Speed, and Vision Quest is boring.

Slow an area. Bomb the area. Acid Rain the area. AOE DoT. If something makes it out Horrify and repeat. If all else fails you Spirit Walk/Soul Harvest and repeat step 1. It's made things alot more enjoyable.

I want to discuss something because I had a tiny epiphany of sorts. I don't want to rant so I'll try and keep this short.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I play this game to grind for good gear to make it easier to find good gear. I don't mind that carrot chasing redundancy.

But the auction house takes away that fun. Today I bought a weapon for my Monk because I was using ones 9-10 levels below me. 10 minutes later I found a really cool Rare Axe that I would have been ECSTATIC to find if the weapon I just bought wasn't better. But because it was I just vendored it and moved on. I had single-handedly denied myself the very reason for playing.

But what else was I going to do with all the money I had? I've been vendoring 99% of my drops since Level 1. I've tried crafting but the levels between each piece of gear are stupid and the stats on them are even dumber. I've yet to craft a single piece that was good enough for the level it was made for. If I max out my crafting I want to be able to create an awesome piece of Level 1 Gear so when I make a new character he feels REALLY STRONG.

I guess I'm just frustrated because there is a GREAT GAME here. The skills are so cool, the battles feel great and when things are going well this game is untouchable; getting a good rare is the best feeling ever. I just wish there was something I could spend my money on besides defeat my own purpose.

The problem is that the whole game is geared around the AH. "Gring for good gear to make it easier to find good gear" is super-fun in theory, but when the good gear in question is just not dropping, you've got a problem. I'm sure Blizzard was entirely aware of these problems when they designed the game - crafting being really weak, useless drops, etc. - but chose to leave them that way to prompt people to use the AH.

Did you buy all the stash upgrades? Did you buy and upgrade the staff of herding? These are all great money sinks if you want to burn money. If not, I'd just try to force myself not to use the AH until Hell is cleared (since not using it makes Inferno extremely hard, I'd wager, though HGR could answer that question better than I), which is what you already seem to be doing with your DH.

Yeah, I try not to use the AH as much on my other chars, since I really don't need to. Mostly I've just used it when I'm playing with someone way farther ahead of that character, in which case you almost have to use it to survive.

Heh, I do like sharing gear between my characters though, even ignoring the AH. It's fun to be able to make use of the good items you find somehow.

You could even say that's the ideal way to play the game. Play five characters, Play 5 characters, keeping them all around the same level. Whenever you find a good item, use it for one of your other characters rather than selling it on the AH. That way the stuff you get should be about as useful as what you would've gotten on the AH in the end, and all your characters should have good gear.

Well that's kinda what I'm doing right now. My Monk and Witch Doctor are supplying my Demon Hunter.

But that's why I refuse to level my Demon Hunter without Solfadore/Nevest. When you play 4 people you can share drops and it really removes some of the need for the AH. Again, I just wish I had something to spend all my money on. I'm still confused as to why Vendors Items aren't randomly better.

I just feel bad for people who don't have a group of friends to play with because this game is very anti-social which doesn't make sense. I don't know any other game that forces you to be online but removes social interaction. Public Games are an idea but monsters get so much HP that killing affixes becomes less fun and more strenuous.

but oh well, it's been pretty good so far. Hell has been really annoying but I've been killing stuff quickly (halfway or so through act 2 hell). Survived dumb combination a*****s like Mortar/Waller/Desecrator that my DH would've been destroyed on. Still have dumb deaths from s*** like multiple traps and moltens' explosions (low def and probably horrible health, 15k at lvl 56 >_<).

If people had some WD builds in mind - spells and gear - or general WD advice, that could be useful. I'm currently maining Bears/Darts, but it only leads me so far.

If you want some crowd control for a group of mobs or something Grasp of the Dead with Unbreakable Grasp Rune is an 80% aoe slow on an 8 second cooldown / 8 second duration, that's very good.

For survival you want Spirit Walk because it puts you in the spirit realm and you take no damage. I use the healing rune but any are good. And Spirit Vessel passive since if you get killed... instead of dying you go to the spirit realm for 2 seconds and take no damage from anything and get set at 10% health. If you don't have Jungle Fortitude passive, that increases your effective health significantly.

Bid Bad Voodoo with Slam Dance is amazing for dps. 20% attack speed, 20% movement speed, and 30% damage bonus? Yes please.


I love using Fetish Army a lot, the little guys actually do decent damage, and there are so many that they are great for tanking things. Even when things one shot them they still distract for awhile, so that's nice. Hex is pretty useful too at times but only against one or two enemies and not everything can be hexed.

Firebomb with Roll the Bones is great for aoe damage.

I think every other witch doctor ability is terrible. All of them.

Stats on it are relatively meh, but it has good block chance without a modifier, good resists, and very high crit chance which is rare on a shield

I see it going for a few mil or more. Might wana get a 2nd opinion though.

What a weird shield.

It's got All Resistance which is what Shield Barbs love but then it also has a mediocre block %, no bonus block, and above average block amount. Then it comes packed with Crit Chance and a good one at that.

Go scan the AH for shields with 8.0 Crit and see how your item scales off those.

Quick Scan shows that your shield is going to fetch a couple million. that crit chance is just really, really good for a shield.

2% more would net you a metric **** ton.

Also, she may only be lvl 12, but I'm loving my witch doctor right now.

Favorite thing to do is to run into a group of mobs, hit that ability that gives me int for each one hit (up to 5) and then throwing down the grasping dead onto the group and walking away while they die to the snare and the dogs. =D

Just you wait until your dogs start dying in seconds. Should take about 3 or 4 levels now. >_>

Honestly, the reason why the WD sucks so much is the lack of mana/mana regen. Dire Bats cost about 115 mana/sec, so you've got about 4 or 5 shots before running out. From then on, it's basically running away for 15 seconds waiting for your mana to regenerate. Same deal with Bears or Acid Cloud. Basically, you spam spells and hope to kill stuff before your mana runs out - if you don't, you'll be a sitting duck for a while. Only way around that is Vision Quest, and that throws strategy out the window.

Wizard, on the other hand, is just crazy good. Blizzard with Snowbound costs only about 20 Arcane Power to use, which means 7 good uses before running out, and even then, it takes about 6-7 seconds to replenish AP completely. In the time it takes me to cast a spell, I have already regenerated half of it.
