Ted's gonna be ****ing awesome, and I can't wait to see it. That having been said though, why write off Magic Mike? It's supposedly quite good, Soderbergh is a great director, and Olivia Munn gets nekkid in it. This isn't exactly Twilight we're dealing with here.

Man, I feel like I'm totally backwards, because I can't stand most of Seth MacFarlane's stuff, at least recently. Maybe they just put the best parts of the film on the commercial (which is a distinct possibility), but I think it looks hilarious.

I'm going to be completely honest here, I've avoided every trailer other than the first for Ted because I just can't picture a modern Macfarlene work to not be complete and utter garbage.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt I will ever be able to bring myself to give it a shot. Family Guy has been too awful for too long.

American Dad seems OK though I guess. Hm.

Probably around the time they started making episodes that completely focused around the writer's political opinions.

Like that one with Joe's AWOL son. F***ing HELL that was one of the worst half hours of television. And then there are the episodes that don't actually have any humor in them at all and play it completely straight, like the Meg standing up for herself episode.

Only movie I've seen in theaters this year is The Avengers. I still want to see Snow White if I can catch it, but I've paid a lot of money for Blu-Rays this year. I'm suddenly very excited about the prospect of building an incredible library of movies.

The ones where they try to make legitimate commentaries on crap suck because you aren't supposed to like or think any character on the show is anything more than a selfish s***head who would be loathed by normal people in real life, so it all falls flat when they try to be deep and try to display themselves as anything more than flat comedic characters.

American Dad has their legitimate commentaries down because even though their characters all act like jackasses, you can tell they all really do care for each other (even if some of them are really bad people). God, American Dad is such a well written show nowadays.

I'm probably going to see both this weekend (and got tickets to see Spider-Man at midnight, and went and saw Men in Black 3 and Madagascar 3 over the past couple days, and at some point in the next week, will probably end up seeing Brave and Moonrise Kingdom). No shame in either. One's a (depending on your opinion, potentially surprisingly) well reviewed comedy, and the other is directed by the guy who directed a pair of my favorite movies of all time, Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Thirteen.

So is it as bad as it looks?
