One great match, two very good matches, nothing horrible, decent booking.

It's right there in that high solid range. It's tough to judge though against, say, Over the Limit which is one great match, one Match of the Year candidate, and a bunch of crap.

MitB certainly has the potential to be a better PPV if they don't bog things down too much with meddling booking.

Punk vs. Bryan can be better than Aries vs. Roode
Raw MitB can be better than Ultimate X
SD MitB can be better than Styles/Daniels
Sheamus/ADR...can be about just as good as Joe/Angle

So then it's on the filler to not fall below the rest of the X-Division tournament quality too badly if all those other ones deliver.

But yeah, even though Raw has been kinda mediocre to bad lately overall, I'm still giving them a bit of a pass until Raw 1000.

I totally understand if they're sandbagging until then to make that show as special as possible, and then they gotta have stuff in the bag moving forward with THREE HOUR SHOWS.

SD seems like it has a really good show every other week. This past week's was pretty good, for example. Impact was still the best show but SD was the second best and a lot closer to #1 than #3.

Just two more weeks of two-hour Raws.

uh, no, I DON'T give them a pass for that. Intentionally making two months of crappy shows to help one good one be a little bit better does not seem like a winning strategy to me.

I'm agreeing with SMuffin here. You can't give WWE a "free pass" for putting on woefully below average to painful television because they have a special event coming up, especially since TNA has managed to put on consistently decent television while building to shows that aren't necessarily that big of a deal to them.

Maybe I should define my terms a bit more:

By "free pass" I mean I'm not gonna take a dump all over the product just because its lackluster. They have an excuse. A really pathetic excuse but an excuse nonetheless. WWE has so much goodwill built up that I can ride them out to see what they come up with at their pre-ordained event. SD is clear evidence that they are still capable of a quality show.

I will shout to the heavens that TNA right now is what wrestling should be, and I will nitpick WWE and say what could be better about their booking, but I won't crap on them too bad as far as the free shows go. Not yet.
