Yup, Sandra's going home. Awesome. (Also loving how Varner, who with Sandra gone becomes the tribe's new "weak link," is basking in the glow of being the decider between two winners.) This s*** is why I hate Varner. He talks so much about gaming just for the sake of gaming, even if it's not SMART gaming.

The only real shame is that Tony blew up his game so hard. All he had to do was just play it cool and not try his spybunker idea, and I think they target/eliminate Hali, no questions asked.

I did really like that alliance idea with the winners. What I didn't get was that Sandra didn't say anything bad about him. Even f***ing Troy was all "hey tony is a threat but let's keep him around a bit" and then Tony jumps in and goes nuts. He should have been all "okay well I eavesdropped and got some intel, but Sandra played it cool and OH s*** even f***ing Troyzan seemed cool keeping me around, so time to roll with this and lay low for a while, THEN I can re-evaluate..." instead he goes full on f***ing paranoia mode WHAT THE f*** YOU THINK IS GONNA HAPPEN BRUH :P

Also, Cirie reminiscent of Phillipines Penner?

Cirie's problem is that, looking at her tribe, there is almost NO ONE who has a target as big as her. Let's run it down:

Andrea - Two seasons, finished 6th (without RI involved) and 7th, neither time making herself out to be a huge threat.
Brad - Pre-merge boot.
Sarah - 11-person merge boot.
Zeke - 9th place in a season the other players hadn't seen yet.
Sierra - 5th place with a reputation as a follower.
J.T. - Former winner, but also made himself look stupid in HvV.
Tai - Sweet guy, but no threat.
Debbie - 9th place lunatic.

Cirie's only real shield is Ozzy, who has a legendary reputation, and also happens to have a personal beef with her from Micronesia.

I'm not saying Mana is an All-Star tribe, but it had two winners, "robbed" Aubry, fan favorite All-Star Malcolm. There are multiple people to target based on prior reputation, is what I'm saying, which lessens the target on any individual player. Cirie is the sore thumb on her tribe.

i dont think sandra is going to win this season, but can we finally put to rest all the criticism of her chops as a player? because tonight she went head-to-head with a big-time player, with the target on her back, and won without getting a single vote. GOAT.

Man, that's why Sandra's the f***ing queen. She got Tony voted out, and got him to help split the votes by having him vote for his ally on the way out. I'm so sorry I doubted her tonight, lol.

That was fantastic.

Ciera outdid herself yet again. She talks way too much and now she knows how Vytas felt.

Sandra vs. Tony... WHY DID IT HAVE TO END? That was such fantastic TV, leading up to what blindsided ME. I was thinking they were voting Sandra out, as much as Tony seemed resigned, but... that exit exchange was absolutely priceless.

Also, why did Tony ask Sandra to call Troy out when TROY WAS RIGHT THERE? Very poor play there. Tony's expectation of Sandra to be erratic is what cost him the game.

Much better season start than I thought. Though we got another Legacy Advantage that... can be used at 13 or 6? Is 13 the merge or the last pre-merge round where there'll be 7 or 6 people left in a tribe? (They need to stop the merge at 13, that clearly doesn't work.)

The ONLY reason I'll even acknowledge the existence of this post is because in her voting confessional Aubry was clearly mouthing "GO. HOME." which doesn't fit the edit at all, so maybe there was a fallout there.

I've been listening to Survivor Historians podcast off and on the past few months and started Palau earlier today. A lot of the early talk was about the World War II theme of the season and the little touches the producers made like the ammo box urn or the submarine, and this is the first season in a long time that looks like it has a huge thematic flavor. The shipwrecks everywhere, the INCREDIBLE lighthouse tribal council, that sailboat they came in on, all the sharks, and that hilariously awesome idol (especially that underwater shot, **** yeah). Add in the two incredible looking beaches and my eyes are already sore from the spectacle.

Only major gripe?

Both water stations look identical. Not just the station itself, but the entire layout. When Cirie was talking with both Sarah and later Debbie, the only difference my brain was registering were the different colored bottles. Same camera angles, same approach, same style of discussion around the thing. It was weird.
