I was looking at the MAL ratings for this season's shows; Handshakers has broken below 5.0, which is quite an accomplishment on MAL. I haven't watched it, but I kinda wish I had. I've seen clips of it and it being CGI dumpster garbage is it's only "redeemable" trait. It's animation is beautiful, but terribly ugly at the same time. It at least deserves commendation for trying to be different (but failing horribly).

I want to play through final fantasy V, but I can't stop playing dungeon crawl stone soup. I got this itch from watching a twitch streamer blind play FF6, and was pretty terrible at it to the viewer's joy.

In terms of how it plays, Final Fantasy V is possibly my favorite game in that entire series, and I am particularly fond of the GBA version. The translation manages to be fun. Highly recommended.

Handshakers might be suffering in the ratings because people keep comparing it unfavorably to K, which is by the same studio (and in the same style).

Gaiden (also called FE2) used to be the black sheep of the Fire Emblem series, and then Sacred Stones revisited several of its design choices (class choice, monsters, etc.) to good effect. Class choice, in particular, made a comeback in Awakening and Fates. Looking forward to seeing what Echoes does with Gaiden and its mechanics.

The last two episodes of ACCA have been dropping bombs in terms of plot, which was overall slow moving. This is one of the reasons why I'm not bothered by slow plot. Feelsgoodman.

This isn't related to anime or anything, but I was just doing some reading on Valentine's Day traditions around the world. I knew about how Japan handles that and White Day, and it's basically the same in South Korea. However, in South Korea they also have a day in March called Black Day, where people who didn't receive anything on the previous two holidays gather in restaurants and eat soup.

Can you imagine how many lonely otaku there would be in Japanese restaurants if they did that?

I keep ending up with the same dilemma in D5 lol. I'll get a big batch of prisoners and have a hard time deciding whether to level up squads with them, or turn them into a stat boosting item. Also, my highest level item is a steal hand at level 4xx and I'm through 180 floors in the item world dungeon on it. I'm mostly just using it to subdue innocents. Think my best innocent is a subdued gladiator at 1540.

I've started on Kuromukuro. Seems decent so far.

Apologies for the silence here. I have had almost nothing to report. Granted, the Switch released at midnight, but I am going to hold off until it has a library of games that is more than a new Zelda. Another release that almost escaped my attention (because I helped Kickstart it a good while ago) is Chrono Clock, a VN on Steam (and Nutaku, though the Steam version is not as censored as the developers originally thought it was going to be, so good for them). Plus more RPG Maker games, but those are always happening.

So I finally finished all of Hajime no Ippo, it was really good stuff until I finished it and felt sad that it was over, I really hope it gets another season eventually especially as the rematch between Ippo and Miyata wasn't shown nor has Ippo found the answer to the question he asked near the start of the series, overall I rate it want more/10

Started watching gintama. I ended up dropping it after the first 2 episodes before but this time I'm enjoying it more. I hear it generally takes a while to really get good (like 30,60,or 100 episodes depending on who you ask) but I'm enjoying it for now. Also I did end up getting for honor and played it a bunch and it sucks and is boring at high level but its kinda fun to stomp baddies in the team modes.

Super Robot Wars V has arrived. And it is good. Relatively small roster of series, but it has a number of obscure picks (e.g. the Crossbone Gundam manga), plus old favorites that have never been in HD before (e.g. Getter Robo Armageddon). I picked the male protagonist (Soji), and he has a ton of personality. Big improvement. Best aspect of the game thus far: Yamato 2199 is the centerpiece of the plot, and you get the Yamato as your flagship. Epic. Only disappointment is that there is a lot of plot centered around Mars, but no Tobikage this time. Unfortunate.

Listened to old FF OSTs (notably between IV to IX.. along with Tactics) which was a pleasant wave of nostalgia.

I'll either replay them or maybe Live-A-Live because that was a real underrated gem. The battle system was awesome. Heck everything was awesome, except for when the game ended. I needed more!

Anyone have a blind manga recommendation to suit this need? I wanna be a hipster and be like, "I read the manga before it got an anime adaptation". So really, anything you like, that you think would get an anime adaptation soon/eventually.

I'd also guess that the manga still needs to be running since adaptations are usually to boost sales?

Welcome to the Ballroom is getting an anime soon, and it's really good. The anime will have the advantage of actually seeing the dancing in action, but the manga has absolutely gorgeous artwork which will certainly take a hit in the transition.

While it probably won't ever get an anime adaption I'd still recommend Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. I really like it, the main characters are strong, the humour is great, and the stories are interesting and actually scary at times.
Would also recommend Psyren but I'm also unsure if it will ever get a anime adaption.

This is what happened to me with One-Punch Man and Owari no Seraph. With One-Punch Man I read the web comic actually before the manga remake and before I knew it, an anime adaption was announced.

Still playing the crap outta D5 and watching Kuromukuro. Liking Kuromukuro more than I thought I would. At the beginning the chapter 12 in D5. Been trying to not be too overleveled, but I could more than likely solo the rest of the story with my main guy at this point lol. I got my gladiator innoncents better now. Have one at 6k+ and another at 1k+. Not sure how much longer I'm going to keep playing it, but I'm not looking to finish it yet.

For next season, there's a bunch of sequels of shows that I'm interested in that I haven't seen. I'm going to follow the way of the dragon504, and watch the entirety of them when they're done airing. That way, I'll have a "light" season where I don't get bogged down immediately.

Next season is shaping up pretty nicely, though I'm eagerly awaiting the end to the current one as well.

Damn I just had a look at next season and there are so many promising anime. Even if half of them end up garbage that will still be a ton of good anime. This current season has very little for me and aside from the glorious keijo last season didn't have much for me either so it would really be great if spring season turns out well.
