Board 8 > Would anyone be interested in a return of CAST IT?

Most people might not remember the original short-run topic (that ended up dying by day 4)

Basically, cast a hypothetical movie with your dream actors, most votes wins for each character, etc. Topics ran for Rick and Morty, South Park, and Ace Attorney before interest depleted in the 999 topic.

However, it's a project I really liked and really want to see given another chance, so I'm trying one more time. I'm thinking of maybe moving it to Games N Things to get more participants, or maybe even running it jointly.

I think if you do that, you need to do things that are going to have extensive interest, not just the interest of a few users. You'd also have to keep it to a few core roles (no more than 8), rather than an entire cast list. That takes too long. You also should encourage people that if they only have two actors to only vote on those two.

GNT is a private board so there aren't as many people there. Keep that in mind, too.

Yeah, those are some good points. Usually what I want to do with it is have the main characters (probably 6-8) and then let people cast more if they want to do more (that's what I did with South Park, and I think it worked fairly well). Not sure what you mean by the "two actors" part though.

GNT has less people, but I feel like a higher percentage of the people there participate in things like this. At the very least, I might just run the topic on both boards and combine the results.

I'm thinking the best way might to be to run it on both boards at the same time, adding results together as they go.

Also thinking each topic might run a little longer, like 2-3 days at least

Having 999 be the fourth topic is just asking for your series to die

Not saying anything about the quality of the topics or the items selected, but obviously having something like "Metal Gear Solid" is going to garner a lot more participation than 999

It's weird though, because 999 won the vote by A WIDE margin. And I know the game's popular on this board. Would've thought it'd be more popular because of that

Like the animated series or the game? Can't imagine casting for the Pokemon themselves would be particularly effective since they'd likely just be voice actors anyway, but the humans could work (maybe Ash, Misty, Brock, May, Oak, Jesse and James?)
