I worked 16 days straight without a day off before, because the head of my department at the time went on vacation and there was simply no one else to cover those shifts who had the capability to do what he did. I can't remember how many hours I actually worked on those specific weeks but I do remember not liking having to work so many days in a row. though I'm sure there's plenty of people out there with a stronger work ethic than me who think working 16 days straight without a day off is no big deal.

that was when I was much younger, though. since then I haven't again had a job where that sort of thing would be required of me. if anything over the years I've had to work less and less in order to maintain the same lifestyle.

Fat pay and fat vacation make 68 hour weeks go away pretty easily for me. I'd do it.

Yes it is real. They are wanting the custodians who signed up for Overtime Desired list to work 5 12 hr days and a 6th 8 hr day. If you didn't sign up then 4 10 hr days and 2 8 hr days. All because they don't have enough people to cover the time it would take to do my job.

Eh, I'm working 68 hour weeks right now for tax season. It sucks but it's not the worst thing in the world. There are people at my firm who work way more than I do, like over 90 at times.
