As a Bears fan I am slightly annoyed we traded up to get him. There were so many very solid options (at other positions) in this draft and we've got for the uncertain one. And were we that certain that the 49ers were going to take him (or someone else trade up) that we couldn't wait literally 1 pick? I'd have rather traded down and taken a different QB

Hopefully he works out but I was ok with Glennon for a year and then going from there. I actually feel bad for Glennon. Through no fault of his own, he keeps getting jumped (or the prospect of being jumped in the near future) on the depth chart.

As a Packers fan I'm thrilled with the Bears giving up picks to move up 1 spot and take a QB.

I'm also thrilled that the Packers currently have the first pick today and tomorrow. Anyone want Kizer today? We shall see.

As a Chiefs fan, I'm not sure why we traded up to #10 to get Mahomes -- he was probably gonna be available later anyway

And if he wasn't, we could've gotten DeShaun Watson or DeShone Kizer if no one else did

Okay, I've had time to think about it and I'm more okay with Trubisky now. I fully expect the Bears to try and trade back in the 2nd and recoup the 3rd rounder they gave up. If not, they're still plenty of secondary/defensive talent available thanks to the run on offensive players early. If Glennon plays well we can always trade him to some desperate team after the 1st or 2nd year of his contract (possible wishful thinking maybe).

I expect we won't have to worry about QB for the next 4 years at least (whether he pans out or not) and by then we'll hopefully have built some more talent around him. I also fully expect John Fox to be fired midseason/after the season...especially now that I've read that he didn't know about the Trubisky pick until 90 minutes before the draft lol

So I'm curious if anyone keeps track of their draft history. Purely out of curiosity to see how players from each round pan out. I only have 2 seasons of data on my team (well 3 but that includes rookies)

2010
1st: MLB Laurinaitis 80 > 88 (Starter straight after draft and productive. 166 Tackles, 13 sacks, 3 FF, 5 FR)
2nd: DE Beardless 80 > 82 (No playtime, 9 tackles in 2 seasons)
3rd: OLB Tufts 75 > 86 (Starter straight after draft and productive. 134 tackles, 18 sacks, 3 FF, 3 FR, 3 INT)
4th: SS Parrish 77 > 81 (Minimal playtime, 20 tackles in 2 seasons compared to 124 Tackles, 5 sacks, 1 FF, 6FR, 3 INT from starter)
5th: WR Thomas 76 > 80 (Scraped bottom of WR depth chart after player injury, 264 yards 1 TD)
6th and 7th cut

I can't decide if 2010 was a really good draft or 2011 was bad or it's just due to playtime. Possibly all 3. I was hoping other people would have data for comparison

I've only drafted once besides this off-season obviously, but here's what I had in 2011:

2nd - DT BJ Raji 80>81 (had 8 tackles with presumably close to no playing time)

3rd - OLB Josh Jackson 77>80 (another back-up, but he had 16 tackles, a sack, + a FR)

4th - OT Omar Frazier 77>80 (saw some time filling in for injured guys, finished with 18 pancakes and 3 sacks allowed)

5th - G Carl Nicks 75>80 (didn't play much, 6 pancakes, 3 sacks)

6th - HB Curtis 74>77 (I think that rating is correct; didn't re-sign him - pretty certain it was a 3 point jump at the very least; he had no stats and was not even a 3rd stringer on the depth chart)

7th - C Bo Hamilton - maybe +1? I dunno, he's only on my roster to fill the requirement. Don't remember his rating last year.

I have too long of a draft history, but I guess that I can whip up something next week.

Are you sure you wouldn't rather take a break anyway to, you know...actually take a break during the break instead of spending it doing things here?

And not only that, it's good for the rest of us too. The season goes by so fast, having a breather to consider trades for the off-season or a playoff push would be helpful.
