CAST IT! involves the idea that a live action movie is being produced based on a comic/show/game/etc. Casting actors to play the major characters in the film.

Rules:

Each of the specified characters must be cast. Whatever actor gets the most votes for each will be the winner. Ties will be determined by whichever got the votes first. Topics will end when there is a decent amount of votes (ideally 24-48 hours, assuming it succeeds). Characters aside from the ones listed may also be cast if there are multiple votes for them, but the ones listed must be.

You may change your vote at any time, and are in fact encouraged to do so if it helps find the best fit for the role.

Casting correctly based on race for Avatar is admittedly tough. The characters originate from all over the world, and since many of them are teens/young adults, it's even harder to find people that fit precisely.

Yeah, mine was a mix of Korean and Chinese mostly.

What I generally tried to go for was Water Nation as Korean and Fire Nation as Chinese, with Earth Nation being more Americanized and Aang being kind of a mix

Although I also tried to go with Asian actors that had experience with American tv/film, since I imagine any Avatar movie would be pretty American production-wise

Also Toshiro Mifune died 10 years ago, otherwise he'd be a great pick. I won't necessarily disqualify him though; the rules are pretty intentionally vague on that

Yes! Thanks for having intentionally vague rules. I tried my best to pick actual kids/teens for Aang/Sokka/Katara/Toph.

I wish I knew more Asian-American performers off the top of my head.

Still very little consensus. I'll throw some weight behind Gina Caranno as Azula, but that still leaves little agreement for Zuko, Katara and Aang. Meanwhile, Toph is all over the place, and the optional characters are barren beyond THE BOULDER. I believe @Raka_Putra and @StifledSilence still planned on submitting ideas.
