The amount of s*** I would get on a daily basis as well as basically almost never being able to be left alone sounds too annoying to deal with

The severe lack of privacy is unappealing. Not even sure what level of wealth makes that worth it. Plus a jillion pundits making not-so-educated-guesses about all of your words/motives/actions, all the time, forever - it's a no from me.

depends on what i'm famous for, tbh, and to what level
plenty of people get really briefly famous these days and then disappear again others are really well known for their work but wouldn't be recognized by many of their fans but yeah, it sounds fun --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ...
