I'm 19 and am not a huge reader but after struggling with severe depression and anxiety since the age of 11, and it worsening recently and being more and more house bound with a ton of time on my hands, I've picked up a reading habit and decided to FINALLY read the Harry Potter books - best decision of my life

I finally understand the hype of it and i regret not picking it up sooner. Being so lonely and depressed, these books came in handy. They took me to another world and I felt like Harry, Hermione and Ron are my actual friends, and I really needed a friend or two.

One thing In particular are the Dementors in PoA and how they in a way represent depression? I'm not sure if that's what they were included in the book for exactly, but the whole concept of the Dementors really is a representation of my depression

Anyone else so grateful for these books and JK Rowling for writing them ?!? I'm in love and I've finished the series just a week or so ago and I know I'm going to be rereading it so I can go back to that world when I'm feeling down

I don't think so, Tim.
