Veggeta_MAX 04/10/17 11:59:46 PM #1:	An Ohio man accused of setting a fire that killed a 10-year-old he was accused of raping and her grandparents jumped to his death inside the Mahoning County Courthouse Monday. According to Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene, Robert Seman, 63, was in court for his final pre-trial hearing inside Judge Maureen Sweeney's chambers. After the hearing ended, Seman, who had a leg restraint on one leg but no handcuffs, jumped over a railing on the fourth floor. He landed 75 feet below in the rotunda and was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff Greene said it was common procedure to not have Seman in handcuffs. "From my many years of working the courthouse and knowing how you do things over there, we looked at that video and we saw nothing out of the ordinary of what the deputies did as far as securing him or how you're supposed to appear when you're in a trial," Greene told News 5. Seman faced the death penalty if he'd been convicted of aggravated murder charges in the March 2015 deaths of 10-year-old Corrine Gump, 63-year-old William Schmidt and 61-year-old Judith Schmidt. Prosecutors say Seman torched the family's home shortly before he was set for trial on the rape charges. Police discovered burns on Seman's body after his arrest over the gasoline-fueled arson. Unless they are shown to be uncivil in court and pose a security risk. Having them in convict jumpsuits and handcuffs is prejudicial to the jury, in my opinion. But this guy had a ton of evidence against him. Burns on his face and DNA left at the scene. He should have taken a plea. I don't know what he thought was going to happen. He should have pleaded out after his first horrific crime. Oh well. He's gone now. In this case I don't think the Sheriff Deputies did anything wrong. Because of his size, even if he had leg restraints on both legs and hands cuffed behind his back, he still could have Shamu'd his fat ass over that balcony. --- I use Google...
