Indie support is pretty good at least. But I totally don't mind ports like these. Switch should totally capitalize on party/board games like Monopoly because of the play anywhere marketing.

Meh. The indie support has been mediocre at best imo. Shovel Knight, BoI, and Master Blaster are good, but the rest are a mixed bag. And the third parties have been about the same quality wise, if not worse.

And April/May don't look too much better. Hopefully with E3 they pick up the pace. I want to like the Switch, and I'm throwing money at my screen, but Nintendo just keeps giving me poor ports and random indies.

That being said, just imported Disgaea 5 from Amazon.jp just yesterday. At least Region locking is a thing of the past.

Snake Pass sounds good and I like the look of Mr Shifty which is releasing today.

But tbh I'm working my way through Fire Emblem Fates at the moment so I'm not too worried lol.

I'm constantly rotating through a PC/PS4/Wii U game and a Switch/Vita/3DS game. By the time I'm completely done with the Vita and 3DS there'll be plenty to play so I'm not too bothered really. Such is life for being an early adopter.

Yeah I now and again have family/friend get togethers where this could be a fun party game with Jackbox. These are the kind of games that really benefit from tabletop mode. I hope we see more board/party games like this tbh.

I wonder if they'll add that Mario Monopoly board.

And I'm guessing Mr Shifty should get updated. It really needs it based on what I've seen and heard. It drops to a crawl because of all the enemies one the screen that the Switch just cant handle.

The first year for PS4 was really bad. Killzone and Knack weren't even good games. So last gen ports like Assassin's Creed Blackflag were highlights. Battlefield 4 was a highlight for a lot of people but I didn't personally care about that and it launched broken. It relied on indie games like Octodad and Outlast until like September when Destiny released.

So yeah first year having droughts (unless you play indies) is rather par for the course. Xbox One had a better first year in comparison to the PS4 thinking about it.

Payday 2 will likely end up being disappointing on the switch. Overkill hasn't had great success with console versions of Payday 2 simply, because it's hard to keep up with all the updates on PC.

Still it didn't have any droughts at the very least. I'd take mediocre + no droughts over mediocre + droughts any day lol

I take it as a sign that mid-tier developers are more likely to be on board. Which is always good.

Curious how this relationship even happened. Starbreeze generally doesn't seem to care about consoles much. Seems unlike either Starbreeze or Nintendo to reach out.

I don't think it's not that they don't care about consoles, it's just much harder to print a physical copy of the current state of Payday 2 and provide the same amount of updates as PC get, because consoles generally have update costs. Plus I also believe there's a size restriction to how large an update can be on consoles. There's just no way a console version of Payday 2 can compete against the PC version.

The game is super big at this point.

Last gen ports is the best 3rd party support the Switch is going to get without Nintendo paying 3rd parties up front in full for a game's development.

Oh wow, I didn't realize they announced they were canceling every single game announced for Switch and are ceasing production of all the ones that already launched, except for Monopoly. I must've missed that part of the Direct.
