Chapter 18, doing a pretty good job, even got two units to job advance(and getting Peri and Nyx to level 20 was more painful than anticipated).

Bottom group of people manage to take out the General bosses and the reinforcements without too much trouble.

Kaze paired up with Beruka attacks Zola twice, Beruka blocks the counter attack. Zola is low enough to die when he attacks on his turn.

He has Vengence in Hard Mode, and his Ragnarok had a 38% chance to hit Kaze.

Vengence has roughly a 22% chance of activating(Zola's Skill = 15 x 1.5 which equals 22.5)

Naturally he gets both rolls and Kaze dies. On turn 18 -.-

Yeah you really don't want to attack bosses who have a low-% chance to kill you. 8% isn't that unlikely! I know that sometimes you have little choice and it sucks; had something very similar happen to my Ryoma on my last Birthright playthrough.

what you should have done is used someone like Silas to "Shelter" Kaze and get him off of the tile that was open to being attacked. alternately, Azura could "Sing" to Kaze so that he gets another action. if one hit was enough to kill Zola all you need to do is guarantee you are the person to get the next hit.

also did you not have any other units available to attack Zola and get the kill? especially if Kaze hit him already, he should have been debuffed and easy to finish off as long as you had one good attacker available.

With just a simple roll of duct tape this level of reasoning is possible.

also what NeoElfboy said. never leave a unit in a position where a boss (or anyone really) has more than a 0% chance to kill them. why ever leave it up to fate?

In hindsight I should have just sat Kaze next to the boss without attacking. I don't think he had a crit chance, and vengeance obviously doesn't kill at full health. On my next turn even if Kaze couldn't do it in one, Beruka would have just blocked the next attack(I gained a full bar from attacking on the run I just reset) and GG, don't have to worry about the 4 heroes.

I was honestly just cocky because Kaze was soloing so damn hard up to that point(Including several mostly unnecessary Lethalities), so I basically had him by himself and waiting for the generals to go down before attacking Zola. I also didn't bring Azura with me on that mission.

As an aside? I never realized how squishy Peri is. Her damage isn't bad, but it seems like she gets ruined if she tries to trade blows with anyone. Where as Silas(Who I'm not using this playthrough, oops) could at least take a few hits.

Like seriously right now Kaze has either crit or used Leathality like 10 times already, I haven't even gotten him to the first chest!

I just have to remember that being a complete and utter beast =/= being unkillable
