I deny the requests of ppl I knew a long time ago or people I went to school with and it is to gently say F U. Usually they deserve it, but some might just get caught in the crossfire. They probably only wanted to add me to collect me like pokemon anyway so who cares.

Could be a private person, or colleague that doesnt want people they work with to know them beyond the work relationship

I know facebook friends can be pretty meaningless to a lot of people, once i got over 1000 fb essentially became like a 2nd LinkedIn page to me

But for some it does matter. Just act like it never happened and keep it moving

From MySpace to Facebook to Instagram.....if I don't know you, you're not gaining access.
Guess I'm just a private person.

This and YouTube are the only open forums I have.
I'm just a screen name to you and that's all I should ever be.

Accept request, unfriend them later. How long later depends on how cool we were but they got to go eventually.

Back when I still had a facebook I never sent friend requests. I always figured that if someone wanted to be my friend they'd ask.

Excuses like these shouldn't made to reassure anybody. If someone denies your Friend Request, especially if you both have mutual friends, then they're surely telling you to go fuck off.

I think people who accept and later unfriend you are assholes too, but they're a different story.

It means - in order of likelihood:

- they don't know you
- they don't like you
- you're a co worker and while they like you it's a line they don't want to cross
- they have a weird complex about facebook and are specific about who they add, and you're just not close enough
- maybe they got the notification when drunk one night and forgot about it

If someone unfriends you, its presumably because you gave them a reason to (though also just be sure they didnt make a new profile. Ive seen cases like that before where i thought someone deleted me but it turns out they just remade my page)

But the case of someone not accepting your friend request? I wouldnt be so quick to jump to conclusions. Theres a guy in my department that denied my request but we still get lunch every friday. His FB is basically just for union labor organization so he doesnt want unrelated people on it (learned this from another colleague who is friends with him). If theres a person in superior positions to you (like a professor or dean in acaemdia), its common for them to reject your request as well

Some shit just isnt that serious imo

Not necessarily. Some people just might not be that comfortable sharing that much of their personal lives with people. Especially if you aren't long-time friends or something or like, a co-worker or something.

But yeah if your childhood friend or something is ignoring your friend request and he's clearly otherwise active on Facebook yeah he might not like you

That somewhat makes sense. I mean, the person who rejected my request, we were all part of the same group of students over at the Art center, so it's not as if we were complete strangers. We had mutual friends and all, so in the end, I just assume they plain don't liked me.

Every case and work environment must be different then because I have the majority of my co-workers on FB. Well, except that one slut who blocked me for whatever reason.

Given your posts on here I'd imagine it's a pretty good reason.

Spamming her FB with countless Friend Requests must've had something to do with it.

And occasionally complimenting her on how good she looked in khakis.

Definitely a case by case thing. It gets messy for example if you're on really good terms with your manager, who is friends with your co-workers. Where do you draw the line in the whole adding thing? Nobody wants their boss on facebook.

The one I forgot is:

- she's got psycho jealous boyfriend and doesn't to upset him

Most of my shift managers are around the same age as me, though typically younger, so we're technically peers and all. Plus it's not a business or professional setting.

Our store manager has insisted we don't send her a request, though, seeing as it crosses the line between professionalism and friendship. Something like that.
