Sometimes I want a bottle of wine without waiting 15 minutes for three people with 30+ items - one of whom pays with a check - to go first, or having to pull aside the guy who watches over the self checkout section. Plus I hate being asked to show my ID when I'm buying NyQuil or keyboard cleaner - there's no way I look under 18; just let me scan my next item!!!

Lucky enough in one of the supermarkets near me they have a maximum of 10 items in two 'fast lane' checkouts. This makes things a lot more easy then standing in a line and waiting just for a handful of items. I believe they have added some self service machines to that area too but not many as not many folk seem to like them.

I seriously only ever use them when I have 5-8 things I'm buying. They make me paranoid af. I have to get cleared because I'm using reusable bags, I sometimes need to get ID'd, every other time it yells at me for putting something in the bag when I didn't, and having someone watch me do it is a creepy feeling <_<

Oh, and the place I normally shop at also has "fast lanes", but their max i 20 items, which isn't much faster than regular lanes, especially when some people use it as a "25 items" lane

Oh they do this a lot and I hate when someone comes over to 'help' and stands watching over you. Although with that said I hate when anyone watches me do things. I can feel their eyes watching me!

I want a self checkout for people under 40. Jesus old people using self checkout now is terrible.

On a side note, if you're going to buy a tobacco product, CHECK OUT IN THE LANE WITH THE TOBACCO PRODUCTS BEHIND THEM. Don't buy all your crap and then ask the cashier to get you cigs, making them go all the way there, or having to call the person there to bring them over (that is if they don't just flat out tell you to go stand in the tobacco line)

This reminds me at work the other day, they had me cover someone's break on the express lane till. It was fine but a few people came through with like, really large orders even though it's the express lane and it's supposed to be 12 items or less. But I wasn't sure if I was supposed to like, tell them that since I'm not really a cashier. I guess people just don't read signs.
