Yeah my wife and I sat down to watch it on HBO too. Sadly the internet wasn't wrong about this one. I hoped it was just a bunch of angry fanboys shitting on it but nope, it's just a crappy movie.

Like dude said I thought it might be fanboys or marvel people just dissing it for the fuck of it but they are right this shit is pretty bad.

I've always liked the "chemical vat" joker better than the "natural born psychopath joker" but that scene, lol wtf. And she oddly looks like Kim Basinger from the original Batman in the flashbacks.

I liked the casting and the characters.

I think the biggest problems are the story/plot, and the editing. The entire film is cut like a trailer because it was edited by a trailer company and it just doesn't capture the audience because quick cuts and constant use of pop rock/rap music takes you completely out of it.

The story was pretty lame as The Joker should've been the main villain not some weird dancing ancient sorceress and her brother.

i was really hoping for it to be good too :/

Yeah it was pretty terrible. Joker was completely pointless, the main bad antagonists was stupid, there is absolutely no chemistry with anybody from the Suicide Squad, I heard they had to reshoot some scenes in the film to add more comedy to the film... well I didn't even laugh once throughout the whole movie, the action scenes were absolutely terrible (from the choreography, to the "dark" shots, to the quick cuts that made the film hard to tell what was going on), and the script and plot was shit.

My favorite part of the movie was the beginning when they were talking about the after effects of what happened when Superman died and how they needed a team they can control and is a great precursor to the formation of the Justice League. So many wasted potential for this film, it could've been good.

Joker aside, the biggest issue the movie really has is that outside of Harley Quinn most people watching the movie don't really know any of the characters. So time has to be devoted to their backstory. Not to mentioned the flawed premise of having a bunch of average joes be a backup team to stop a new superman if he decides to go rouge. Enchantress would be the only who could stand ground against superman.

Plus the whole finale was rushed, because they sent the squad off on a wild goose hunt for most the film.
