He planned on going for over a year now and he's explained it to his boss and HR. He said once he gets his passport and visa then he'll come talk to his boss about a reasonable time to take this vacation. His boss has been a total bitch about it but ultimate accepts because higher managers and HR already approved him of going(and people has taken weeks and weeks of vacation no problem at all). Anyway, a few weeks ago my coworker got his passport in the mail so he went to talk to his boss about scheduling those 2 weeks off for him. Instead his boss became infuriated. His boss said "No one can do your job while you're gone. We're going to have to train a replacement while you're gone." My friend said "But you can do everything I can do and will I have a job when I come back with this replacement here?". His boss says "I don't know. We'll see. But your personal problem isn't the companies problem." My friend was pissed as fuck his boss reacted that way and could even say those stuff. Things haven't been right between them since then. Today my friend had enough of the bullshit so he went balls deep on his boss and said "I'm going on this vacation whether you like it or not. It's already been approved by your manager and HR". His boss replies "Approved or not, I can still fire you. Do you still want to keep your job?" My friend then says "Remember you said my problem isn't the company's problem? Well the company's problem isn't my personal problem either. So you can fire me and find someone new to do all of my work then apparently no one else can do" This pisses his boss greatly and threatens to beat the shit out of my friend. Other people had to calm them down and both have been sent home for the day. The drama is real.
