Actually, from what I've seen, people seem to have more respect towards gay men than lesbians, especially if said lesbians are physically attractive. People tend to not take lesbianism seriously, or as seriously as they do with gay men. The media also seems to focus more on gay men than lesbians.

1. Straight men tend to think lesbianism is hot.

Here are the categories for straight men.

- Fine with everyone and girl/girl is hot
- Gay guys eww, girl/girl is hot
- All of it is an abomination


I heard someone speak on this issue once, and their conclusion was the opposite of the topic. Gay men are not seen as an issue because men are at the end of the day exendable so who gives a fuck, but a lesbian couple is essentially taking two potential sources of offspring out of the tribe. It's a pretty base instinct approach, and it's certainly not an issue in our current society as we do not run the risk of population collapse, but instincts die hard and it's only been a few thousand years since losing two females could spell disaster.

The bible talks down about sex in general and sex for pleasure, so it's pretty apparent they would be against lesbians.

But it never directly comes up so there's less hostility towards it

Plus less penises.

As a general rule in life, you'd be surprised how many issues boil down to "Penises and how many are involved!?"
