Does ANYONE?

Think this was a smart or helpful move. I have no idea what to randomly watch now. We need to organize and fight back.

I hate it. I hate it so much. Instead of scrolling through and seeing "4 stars", I see "84% match".

"But is it good!?"

I remember reading a week or so back that something like 70% of the Netflix userbase disliked the change. I wonder if they'll revert to the old system or have them both there alongside each other, it seems too unpopular for them to not modify it in some way.

I don't care about it really but it pisses me off it couldn't translate my ratings for me. Like they couldn't' figure out a 5 star equals a thumbs up?

No that was coincidence. They had been beta testing this for a while.

Oh good.

It wasn't coincidence, that incident just sped up the rollout.

Maybe I don't understand, but did Netflix not transfer 5-star ratings to thumbs up?

They didn't transfer any of my old ratings. I had to rate everything again.

It's a proven fact that people are less likely to rate a movie/tv show with the star system vs. a system with a thumbs up and down. Most people who vote on a star system usually tend to vote in extremes anyways. Now whether or not it's better or worst is up for discussion.

the assumed star ratings for films I had seen outside of Netflix almost never matched my thoughts on those films so I don't mind it being gone
but I haven't been on recently to know if I prefer this or am equally indifferent

idk why they thought it would be a good idea. there's a huge gap between something being meh and something being atrocious which is why the 5 star system worked

it doesn't help that i have to rate all my shit again

it's a good idea for them because it doesn't look like half their library is trash

they've been increasingly becoming anti-consumer for years now.

The % thing is garbage. For example: that Archer rip-off Pacific Heat used to have half a star. Now it's a 92% match

I hate the new change. It has me considering cancelling my sub after almost ten years. It's a system for simpletons.

I also plan to give a thumbs down to anything with Amy Schumer while my subscription is active. That insecure, joke stealing bitch fucked it all up for everyone else.

Matching garbage to garbage. Seems like the system is a success

This change reminds me of those girls who try to set you up with their girl friends because "she has a great personality" or "you two would really hit it off!"

We all know how those turn out, am I right guys?

I never paid attention to the Netflix rating tbh. Never rated anything, never made a decision to watch something based on the rating. >_>

Netflix's ratings change is basically the worst website change I've seen in my over a decade of using the internet.

There's no quality control and the matching barely makes sense. We don't even get to see the thumbs up/thumbs down ration for fuck's sakes. It's terrible and ruins any ability to find quality shows.

Really wish there was an archive of Netflix stars somewhere. Five star stuff never disappointed me. IMDb/RT just aren't the same, in a lot of cases they're too harsh.

Lmfao 100% accurate. "Well she's a girl, and she's in the same social circle, so clearly you guys are a match! ^_^"

Like... I don't care if the show's in the same genre as what I just watched. I care if it's good.

Nope. You can have a show rated as five stars on your account but thumbs downed at the same time, or one star and thumbs upped at the same time.

The system factors in both old stars and new thumbs, which has contributed to its messiness.

I don't care for it. I took my star ratings relatively seriously and didn't just vote by extremes. Very few things got 5 stars, and three stars was by no means a deal breaker.
