What did they teach? What made them your favorite? Any fun stories? Anything they did differently to other teachers or was it just the same shit but done better?

http://www.jetmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Teacher-with-students.jpg

Interested in what CE thinks and if any patterns emerge in the stories.

LRC which is basically working on homework from classes.

Mrs. Hess taught the class throughout the 4 years, even helped me out starting on a pacifica project (i'm seriously bad at taking initiative and asking for help) :(.
the one requirement plus 50 hours of community service back in 2004 needed to graduate. sure as hell beats finals which they also include.

My tech teacher. He helped me a great deal in breaking out of my shell while I was still in school. Taught me four times in three years, too.

I had a teacher in high school who let us do whatever the hell we wanted like 99% of the time. Once he took us out to the front of the school to teach us how the old Hawaiians cast fishing nets. I think it was obligatory that he had to teach us something. But still, besides that we would just sit in class doing anything while he sat behind his desk reading the paper lol

Spanish teacher. I knew Spanish so I never had to try but that's not really why he was my favorite teacher. Everyone says he did teach well but the guy was also hilarious. Having him first period was great because he'd always have a story to tell to lighten up the day. On the flipside, there was nothing worse than having a boring teacher first period, that becomes nap time

Elementary School - 2nd grade teacher, she was hot AF.
Middle School - History teacher, she just made the class fun.
High School - Math teacher, he was funny. Literally laughed my way into summer school because I did shit in his class.
College - Ethnic studies professor, he was super cool. Took a bunch of classes with him and we became good friends. He was like a grandpa to me.

It was this 70 year old woman that I had for one of my math courses. Her handwriting on the board was immaculate and she basically had the optimal amount of strictness and surliness in her personality.

Professor Coole: (Criminology)
- Was there whenever I needed someone to talk to.... she was practically a mother-figure.
- Always gave extra credit and was reasonable about it.
- Nominated me for a 1,500 dollars scholarship that I recently was told I won.
- Always had fantastic stories.
- Wrote a letter or recommendation for me to transfer with.

Professor Bowers: (Speech)
- Always had a fantastic sense of humor.
- Did what he could to make sure no one dropped his class.... even said if he needed to give an A to keep you, he would.
- Would always make fun wise cracks at him being an old man.
- Knew how to make a speech class easy and understood stage fright completely.

Professor McDonald: (Spanish)
- During tests, he would walk around and tell you an answer was wrong.
- He was very down to earth and honest about everything.
- I could talk to him about anything at all outside of class.
- He wrote me a letter of recommendation for acknowledgement in Phi Theta Kappa.

Professor Blackman: (English)
- My friend was going through a breakdown and she would always stay a half an hour after class to talk to him.
- When my friend dropped English Comp II because of an ultra-conservative professor, she took him under her wing and held a private class for him during her own lunch break.
- She would be on very friendly talk with me whenever we would cross paths outside of class.
- Thanks to her, I am in the honors program. I was initially rejected but she talked to the coordinator. Now I have 5 honors classes under my belt!

Professor O'Donnell: (Economics)
- Brags about money in a way that makes everyone laugh somehow.
- He isn't afraid to dish out wiseass comments back to you.
- He's a very, very smart man who knows how to help you make money.
- He won't let you fail if he knows you are an A student.
- Wrote me a letter of recommendation for transferring.

Professor Boen: (Government)
- He practically looks like Gordon Ramsay's brother.
- He has a very energetic personality.
- Very approachable.
- Has a lot of inside experience with the state government and if he doesn't know something, he jots it down and looks into it rather than bullshits knowledge.
- He's funny and will call on people saying like "You are on deck. So-and-so, you want to phone a friend?"

Oh he sure was, since I learned literally nothing from him (I didn't even bother learning his fishing net thing; I just threw it any old way). But that's only awful from a teacher's perspective, as in if he's doing his job of actually educating his students. He was my favorite because he wasn't doing his job, which gave the class freedom.
