This. I look white but I'm pretty sure my half-minority side has helped me get scholarships and into universities. Pretty screwed up the way you can cheat the system like that, but if it helps me, it helps me.

I don't know, probably not. I haven't really experienced any blatant racism, so any racism I might have experienced, I might not have noticed and I can't say if it's had any impact

Overall no. It doesn't define anything in my life. Of course I have had a few racial slurs thrown at me, got mugged at gun point with my Cousin and his friends who all looked more typically Chicano, so they called us spics and stuff, and even though I'm Latino it was more cause of what they looked like and I just blended in...though I'm sure they would have mugged me if I was alone too. They probably just would have used white slurs.

That is only the real traumatic thing regarding racism. I've had some other stuff, but it was just words, and not enough to like traumatize me.

Positive racism maybe, but not a large impact because it was just a fast food job...and I was better than everyone else at that job regardless, but I guess they wouldn't have known in hiring me. My current job didn't have individual interviews. If you apply, you're hired and you'll most likely quit when you realize how hard it is. After my training period they put me in the toughest area so it's not like "oh he's white, let's give him the cushy shit". Once again I excelled and got praise. I don't think there was any positive racism there. The supes don't care about the race of us guys because frankly they don't care about us on a personal level. They love numbers and I consistently put them up.

The worst case I had was maybe a couple of months ago on the subway. This drunk black guy and drunk Mexican guy were shouting racial slurs at me and kept trying to get to walk off the subway with them so they could attack me. At one point the Mexican guy said "Imma show this white boy what's up" and reached for something in his pocket but the black guy stopped him. I think he was gonna pull a gun on me. Eventually they got off and left but all this was just because I was white. Outside of that there's been some ignorant comments made here and there from non whites that I know but nothing that severe

I'm white, so yes :p. In an indirect, head-tilted, eye-squinty sort of way I'm pretty sure I'm in an elevated position because of racism, likely going back several generations. It's not something I can pinpoint but it's naive to say I'm not the product of racism (affecting education, choice of neighborhood, job opportunities, etc). As for if it's a "major" influence or not it's hard to say because this is all I've known so I can't see parallel universe B.

Yes - I'm southeast Asian (so almost terrorist brown and not the attractive kind of Asian). I was born in the US but grew up in the deep south. People were generally friendly, but more in the "Wow.. somebody that looks like those Indian people on TV" kind of way.

So what happened?

Well I was told "I can't date you because you aren't white/black" - on a broader scale, I was excluded from most social activities till mid high school.

I've broken up with girls because their parents didnt like that my mom was black

i was also passed up on a pretty good paying job because later my friend that does work there let me know that the hiring guy doesnt hire black people.
