Why do they love using Apple's proprietary software on their operating system with it being overpriced and underpowered, instead of downloading whatever the hell you want with it working, as well as games?

There ARE viruses for it.

Saying that there isn't is just plain wrong.

I would buy a Mac for video editing, but I don't do it much anymore.

Apple fanboys will likely be in for a rude awakening in the coming years when one catastrophic one releases, and all of those computers without anti-viruses are infected

Viruses are kind of an outdated concept anyways.

Nowadays it is all about the malware and key-loggers (which are more OS independent and depend more on what web browser you are using). Plus with the market share of Android and iOS being more then Windows and Mac nowadays, it makes a lot more sense to make viruses for those platforms (again, if they were a thing which they really aren't anymore).

The batteries in mac laptops can get viruses. Kind of tells you how much Apple cares about security.

But anyways, i haven't seen evidence of them being more popular. Only that their users are more fanatical.

I've only used osx for a small amount to compile cordova app for ios. So i installed xcode through their store and cordova, then a quick command line and it worked. So kudos for that considering Android is a nightmare to get working. But i really hate the gui. It seems like a collection of every interface design i hate. Shit hidden until you hover over it, multi window environment is an afterthought. Trying to reopen a program requires you to know what that little dot on the tray means. Even the minimize maximise buttons are illogical. Red is closed, fine, yellow is minimize and green is maximise? Or is it the other way around?
Just things like that. I could get used to it, but I'm stumped why idiot users think this is better. User interfaces are not supposed to require users to memorize them. They are supposed to be intuitive.

Just use Android Studio on Windows

Yeah and it'll corrupt the sdk every few updates. Or randomly refuse to update. Don't forget to manually update Java. You might get undecipherable errors during compile otherwise, and at random since updates are random.

I did get a kick out of how on Android emulator the gps is basically broken but the camera works great, on ios the camera is broken but the gps works great. Lol

In my experience, Macs are preferred by two types of people

1. People who do heavy graphic/audio work.. I can't speak from my own expertise but they claim that MAcs are better equipped to handle those jobs.

2. Those who are influenced by Apple's strong marketing and have no interest in understanding the inner workings of a computer. They just want to listen to music and go on the internet.


I'm a PC guy.
