I wish they'd wait until 8th edition and the inevitable Imperial civil war storyline they're pushing. there is rumor running around that we are gonna get Chaos as a surprise at launch also, i could give a shit less about Eldar, but Orkz are the best goddamn fantasy race ever created and they should be in every warhammer game edit: also, id prefer that they release something now goddamn it. DoW 4 can cover the civil war, and that'd be cool, but i need a new dawn of war. --- Is this going to be one of those times when you pretend not to have a plan until the last moment? I'm really looking forward to Total War 2. I haven't bought the first one, though I intend to at some point, but Lizards and Skaven? Those are two of my favourite fantasy races full stop right there.

I would assume it's a case of the IP being worth more than the actual product. Hell, I'm pretty sure a big reason they killed off the tabletop game was so the reboot would be less genericized, with names like Seraphons and Stormcast Eternals instead of Lizardmen and Empire. I'm talking about from an IP perspective. The name stands out more, even if it's shit, and it's harder for other companies to rip them off, like many have accused Warcraft of doing notably.

I thought the reason years ago Games Workshop didn't want to "digitize" their tabletop was because they didn't want to take away players from buying and playing the tabletop. I know fans have different opinions about Warcraft and Starcraft vs Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k but I wonder how much money Flagship Studio/Blizzard could have brought to Games Workshop if they stuck to their deal 23 some years ago. That being said, I am not sure if I liked the army based concept of Dawn of War or the squad based concept of Dawn of War II more.
