Is there any growth difference in stats between the party members?

For example, if I take Bartz from Level 1-5 as a Wizard, would be he be worse off if I took Lenna from Level 1-5 as Wizard, or is everyone kind of the same?

There are individual stat differences between the characters, yes. For example, Bartz has higher strength, Lenna has higher magic, Krile has higher speed, and Faris is balanced. But the differences in stats are ultimately so minor that they can be ignored and you can play as you please.

But, if you really want to min-max, Bartz would probably perform very slightly better as, say, a Knight where Lenna would perform slightly better as a Black Mage.

Also, to be specific, job classes don't effect stat gains like they do in Final Fantasy Tactics. Bartz taking a few levels in Black Mage won't hurt him when he switches back to Knight.

Yeah, I was looking for of a min-max thing since I was looking to find the best character to do an X solo game. So If I wanted a Summoner Solo, I should take Lenna because she has slightly more MA.
