they look at several different things to get the percentage. Like they have haplogroups for the y chromosome, and also haplogroups for the mitochondrial dna. the c1 in that case is the mitochondrial haplogroup. .

I'm really dumbfounded by that man. Suddenly having European descent shouldn't influence what he does or feels as a person. Like he can still support the community as an ally, and if his actions until this point have been positive, it doesn't change who he is as a person. As a black person, if I woke up and found out I was part European I wouldn't suddenly feel guilt over a history I have no part of.

And some parts of Europe have different histories than others, so it's not like Italians who came here in the 1900's have the same history of oppressing Black people as Europeans who came here in the 1600's.
