Got to get away from this hell hole called San Diego, in the meantime still working with money being saved up. But the cities I have in mind are.

Jacksonville, FL
Virginia Beach, VA
San Antonio, TX
Austin, TX

My ideal city is mainly cost of living and weather too. I don't really like dry weather, but in my situation anything is better than SD. Cities in the north such as Seattle, Philly, Portland, and NYC are way too expensive, but I heard Cleveland might be a nice place to live. Does anyone know about these cities particularly Cleveland?

The weather isn't perfect. The weather is too dry, kind of like a desert. I don't why people harp on San Diego being a good place to live. The cost of living is way too expensive, job opportunities are low, LOTS of Mexicans, San Diego has the ugliest and most expensive houses. Rent costs are through the roof. But then again I don't know how people put up living in places like San Francisco where they pay over $1000 just to rent an apartment.

Yep. I live in San Jose. Don't really get what the big deal is either. Weather is overrated. Too many fucking cholos here. If you're not in the tech sector, forget about getting a decent job with a livable wage. If you ARE in tech, then good luck. Competition is fierce. Lots of fat people, and women are pretty stuck-up and entitled.

I'm looking to move too, but to be honest, I just gave up trying to look for another job in another state. Maybe the grass is greener on the other side I guess. California is all I've ever known.

I heard about Canada having a housing bubble, but yeah rent costs are going up everywhere, but San Diego is like the top 10 when it comes to rental cost.

Not all Mexicans are bad, but in San Diego everywhere you go even to your local store someone is speaking in Spanish, especially in south San Diego. There are schools where like 80% of the students are Mexicans, there are Mexican food trucks everywhere especially in the ghetto areas. There is this shopping center where like 100% of the employees are Mexicans. As an Asian-American you don't necessarily feel like you fit in.

I live in San Diego it is dry, I mean people in SoCal make a big deal about a little bit of rain, it's not dry like Phoenix, but it's still dry for me. The weather in San Diego is basically this, hot weather in the summer and not so hot during the winter/spring.

San Diego has a huge asian community. Filipino, Korean, and if you count Hawaiian there's that too.

It gets hot but its not dry at all. Plus no matter where you live in San Diego youre never more than 20 mins away from a beach or marina

I didn't start this topic so I can get an argument with an ahole but I guess that's just the way it is. I'm not complaining, it's just the truth. You just don't see any criticism of San Diego, and you take legit criticism as complaining. The weather isn't perfect in San Diego, given that San Diego is basically a desert, yes it would be understandable that it feels dry here. Also it feels dirty here too which is not surprising given that San Diego has terrible air quality.

http://sandiegofreepress.org/2016/11/san-diego-air-quality/

As for San Diego being close to the beach, it depends on where you live, you should know better.

I don't mind dry weather although I prefer humid colder environment, I just want a new fresh environment you know what I mean, the weather is not so much of an issue to be honest. Anything is better than San Diego.

You dont have legit criticisms and i criticize san diego all the time and im from here.

Too many Mexicans isnt a legit criticism.

If you think San Diego's weather isnt perfect, i honestly hope you move to the south and are just in constant misery from the humidity

You have no argument other than being a hostile ahole and using ad-hominem attacks.

As for criticism, let's see

-Low job opportunities
-High apartment cost
-High Taxes
-Because of the land laws, houses are often clumped together, so the space between you and your neighbor is small, and it's way overpriced.

As for the Mexican augment, if you live here you don't may or may not find them tolerable, but it's just how I feel. But in my case, I just need a fresh new environment. No I don't think the weather is perfect, so you attack me because I don't think it's perfect? That's not an argument, that is just you being bias with no credibility.

lol, so you're upset about suburbs? San Diegos suburbs are nearly identical to other cities.

Move to the mountains or the actual desert and the houses are spread out

The federal unemployment rate? Those numbers are skewed everyone knows that, unless you honestly believe the economy is recovering. As for SD have a abundant amount of job opportunities, I find those numbers hard to believe given that San Diego is the worst city to build wealth, has the 4th highest homeless population (see links), combined with the ridiculously high sales tax, and expensive housing cost.

California I believed has the highest sales tax in the nation, that may not be an issue to you, but it is to me.

Did I say I want to move to the mountains are desert **** ass? And houses don't need to be build in the mountains or desert for it to be spread out. True there is suburbia everywhere in America but I would say 8/10, housing and rental costs are cheaper in almost every city compared to SD unless it's Seattle, NYC or NorCal. Compare cost of living between Cleveland and San Diego for example. Rental cost are almost 50% cheaper.
