She's a sophomore at the College of Charleston and described the event in a lengthy facebook rant with what she wore. She said "So i just got kicked out of the College of Charleston student gym for wearing this outfit. Like not allowed to work out. Not allowed to because of THIS OUTFIT THAT I BOUGHT SPECIFICALLY TO WORK OUT IN. I've worn this same outfit all day. Went to 3 classes and spoke personally with each of my professors today and they didn't have a problem. But when i walked into the gym, they asked me to put on a different shirt. Then, when i'm in the BACK CORNER of the gym doing abs on the floor, another staff member coes up and asks me to put my shirt back on. I said i have a shirt on. They say, no that's not a shirt. You have to wear a whole shirt. I say how is this not a short. And she says, You'll need full coverage. If you have a problem, we always have our boss here. I laughed and said Alright bring him over here if he has a problem. He says i'm gonna need you to put a shirt on. Again, i tell them i am wearing a shirt. H e says i need you to put a shirt or i'm gonna have to ask you to leaveI said BUT I HAVE A SHIRT ON. He says, Are you gonna put a shirt on? And i said well if this isn't a shirt..no i'm not gonna put a shirt on. What is the issue? Why can't i workout in this outfit? Is my belly button distracting the general 85% male demographic that your gym serves? I'm forced to leave? WHY?" Sarah didn't have another shirt and continued to work out after being asked to change. The soutfit she bought was comfortable in workout gear and asks why she can't workout in this outfit. The dress code at the George Street Fitncess Centre requires all gym goers to wear "athletic attire" and bans "clothing or jewelry that compromises the safety of a participant or may possibly damage the equipment" The rules however don't mention or state midriff exposing shirts as being banned but spokesman Mike Robertson said the T-shirt rule is aimed at reducing skin contact with gym equipment for "sanitary reasons". But Sarah scoffed at that claim and said they said she needed more COVERAGE because she was exposing too much of herself and not because it was for sanitary reasons that they made up. It just simply states "Athletic wear must be worn". She said there's a double standard at the gym as there ar girls who wear similar outfits at other gyms and men wearing muscle tees..she notes how some men wear JEANS while working out which is a violation but not were kicked o ut. That was fine to girls to wear at my university gym. Am I reading that she also wore that to class? It would be soooo tacky to wear that to class and that would be the correct time to be kicked out

some girls don't understand the gym isn't a hip hop video shoot. obviously if she's taking soft-porn selfies in it, it's not just about the comfort.

There's nothing wrong with her outfit. I've seen girls workout with nothing but a sports bra for a top.
