Obsessive-compulsive disorder can go hand-in-hand with autism, and my brother happens to have his routine centered around watching movies on his TV. Things he can rewind and watch parts over again. Movies are predictable. They're habit. They don't change. Perfect for someone with a routine. We still have a VHS deck and frequent the local Goodwill as part of his routine to get more tapes and DVDs. I think he has about fifteen copies of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and watches it several times daily. More than a few Sesame Street tapes, too. I can completely understand this level of parenting where special-needs treatment is required.
