They're terrible places filled with poor people who lean on religion, people in power use that religion to take advantage of them. Those people are violent and don't give a fuck about anyone. Not even their own. It's not unheard of that someone so downtrodden would believe what those in power tell them if they think it will help their family.

Because in other countries, the Quran isn't followed as strictly or to the letter the way it is in those countries. Islam is the state religion in those countries, and you can be punished with death if you are an apostate.

It is a pretty miserable place. Hotter than hell and sand everywhere. I feel bad for those women who have to wear those black peephole things from head to toe. Can you imagine how hot it gets in one of those? Black attracts heat...
