So I had Borderlands 2 (with no DLC) on steam a long time ago. Now that I am getting back into playing the game (used to play on the PS3 version) I want to buy the DLC. But what would be the best solution? Should I buy all the DLC individually or get the Game of the Year version?

If I go for the Game of the Year version, how would that work if I already have BL2 on steam?

I think you save more if you get the goty version, even though it gives you an original copy of the game that's wasted too. buying all of the dlc individually is more expensive

basically whatever you're missing gets tacked on there

I am missing every DLC (minus Gaige). How much money would I be saving, btw?

The season pass and GOTY are same price on sale and the GOTY actually includes more DLC.

well, in the goty version, besides the original game + gaige you get...

the psycho character for $9.99
captain scarletts, torgue's, hammerlock's and tiny tina's campaign dlcs for $9.99 each
the collector's edition pack for $4.99 (i'm not sure what this gives you specifically)
the slaughterdome for another $4.99
the ultimate vault hunter pack for $4.99 which raises the level cap to 61

overall that's about $65. the goty version costs $40. so I guess you just save $15
if you don't want all of those, you could just buy em individually I suppose

it doesn't seem to include the second ultimate vault hunter pack, which raises the cap to 71 and also costs $4.99 on its own. doesn't have any of the headhunter packs either

The Game of the Year Edition is not a separate entry in your Steam library. It's just a package with the regular game and some of the DLC. You'll still need to get the Headhunter packs and the second Ultimate Vault Hunter.

Make sure to wait until the Steam Summer Sale. The GOTY edition usually goes on sale for like $8 then.

I mean, that's up to each person's priorities but you stand to save around $40 if you can hold off like 6 weeks until the summer sale.

Reason I been getting into the game is because my friend, she recently got the game (the Goty version). And she wants to go through the DLC soon.

I may try to buy the game soon so I can get all the DLC. Thank you all! ;w;

depending on how often you play, you might get to the point where you can move on to the DLC areas by the time the steam sale rolls around, and you can play with people who own DLC that you don't have (you just can't go to the DLC areas)

just something to consider
