When I was about 20, I had a similar fed uppedness with things and went to England for almost a month. The only thing that can be taken away from it is letting off steam and learning from the experience in one way or another. Whether you take away a newfound sense of self or simply that things weren't so bad at home, it's irrelevant. A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went out to Charizo Plains National Monument to see the Super Bloom. Took over 6 hours to do the whole thing. Just fun to get out and see something new. First time I'd ever been to California Valley. Before making a massive life changing event like that. See if you can make a lot of smaller ones to help spur things along.
