Why will looking at things in person make you not feel empty?

If money is a problem, avoid Europe unless you have family/friends to crash with here and there. When I was about 20, I had a similar fed uppedness with things and went to England for almost a month. I had a good time and it definitely knocked that angst out of me.

Why would you immediately commit to a multi year thing?

Not really doing anything important with my life right now, who knows, maybe I'll learn something about myself

People always want what they don't have. Traveling might briefly fill that void, but I don't think it's a permanent solution to what you are after. But people always want what they don't have, so there isn't actually a permanent solution to that in the first place.

Deep and accurate.

The only thing that can be taken away from it is letting off steam and learning from the experience in one way or another. Whether you take away a newfound sense of self or simply that things weren't so bad at home, it's irrelevant. You get progress with either one.

Variety is the spice of life. Personally I'd love to travel the world but my bank balance says no.

Do it 100%. Just ensure when you come back you retain that motivation and put it to good use.

As someone who has traveled a lot, I don't see the appeal of traveling. You can find the pictures online if seeing forests is really your deal, and people are just generally the same/awful no matter where you go.

One day dude, I'm just gonna get off the bus, and I'm gonna run in the woods and never come back, and when I come back I'm gonna be the knife master!

Thats the great part about the article I posted, it talks about how to travel with no to little money.

You know looking at pictures isnt anywhere near comparable.

No I and the article mentioned how getting specific jobs helps you see these things.

As someone that suffers from a chaotic need for change, Drive somewhere. Even if you have no clear destination.

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went out to Charizo Plains National Monument to see the Super Bloom. Took over 6 hours to do the whole thing. Just fun to get out and see something new. First time I'd ever been to California Valley.

Before making a massive life changing event like that. See if you can make a lot of smaller ones to help spur things along.

Sounds fun
