Don't you think it's a little ridiculous they're openly marketing this practice like it's ok? Worse part is the fucking fan base is ruining future titles because developers think it makes sense to do so

My understanding is that the dlc characters will be like they are in SFV and released over the course of a year, not there on launch. They announce it super early so they can market the season pass, but it's not content they're withholding from the game. It's stupid, but no worse than what Capcom has already been doing for years.

DLC characters in a fighting game is the dumbest DLC model i've ever heard of

because with capcom, it's been proven so many times that all their DLC, all of it, is already on the disc.

and then a year later, they're gonna release the hyper remix alpha version of the game, that comes with all the DLC released thus far, plus MORE characters/outfits that they don't let you get in the version of the game you already have.

it's fucking bonkers.

I used to get more pissed off until I saw this video that spells out how game MSRPs have fallen way behind inflation and DLC has been what allowed this. Normally I dismiss capitalist propaganda, but this seemed legit.

You know what's fucking bullshit? When companies release new character color palettes as paid DLC. You are literally just changing hue values in an editor, making people pay for that is just greedy.
