Are they really? I hated XII. Good battle system and overall good challenge but the characters and story were awful. I'd love a FFIX remake but I doubt that'll happen. If anything Square would probably do a FFVI Remake.

Vaan and Penelo were unnecessary. Ashe was essentially a self-centered princess who wanted her throne back until late game, Fran sounded like cardboard but was otherwise a bunny waifu. Basch had a lot of squandered potential as a great character. Balthier was fine. The alleged villain for much of the game was more heroic than most of the cast of protagonists. The story was a bit of a mess.

That's a no from me. I hated it on PS2, mainly due to the setting, characters, and gameplay. I don't think it's shitty, it just doesn't offer what I want.

Zodiac system that came too late for a lot of people back in the ps2 days. I keep hearing it's far better than the original leveling system, but again, it came too late for me.

This Zodiac System business does sound like it might help a bit, and apparently they really improved that gambit stuff by letting you actually design AI right away instead of having to play with gimped party AI for most of the game. But from what I can tell, it doesn't change the fact that it just isn't a very good system as far as I am concerned.

I am a person who has played actual MMOs before. So playing FF12 is just kind of... bleh. Unlike normal MMOs I am stuck using a menu (the sort you'd expect in a turn-based entry) for action input during a real time combat system.

For some reason, it looked like it didn't look as good as FFX either.

The .hack// games were better in this regard, and they emulated the MMO experience (no, mods, nothing to do with roms/emulators, so get out). FFXII just copied XI's combat and added some things like the Gambit system. It ,made the gameplay so boring for me.

Yet somehow I meet people who say XII's combat was the best thing ever. Seriously, what? Did we play the same game?

Never played XI myself.

And honestly, I'm not sure I'd really say the .hack games were all that much of an MMO emulation either. At least, not like the typical western MMOs anyway.

As far as games that use MMO-like systems, Xenoblade was actually one of the few that both felt like an MMO, while also being enjoyable to me.

Yes, I'm excited. Balthier is one of my favorite characters from any piece of fiction, I love the lore of Ivalice, the hunts are fantastic, and the level layouts and boss encounters are incredibly memorable. My last favorite FF, and with so many elements revamped, it'll feel like a fresh experience.

Plus, the least-talked about feature is the one I'm most excited for: the two different NG+ modes.

Nope. I don't care for Final Fantasy XII and remasters in general.

I know what you mean, but I also liked 13's combat. I feel gambits were more indepth, but it's a similar principal.
