I did my big playthrough (complete with 500 topic) of this gem back in 2008. I'm pretty sure that was the first time I ever touched the game, BUT I was at a friend's house back in 1997, and he was obsessed with this game (he chose PS1, I chose N64). I think I just watched him play, but if I played for even one second that means I can own 1997 FFVII street cred. Too bad I'll never remember for sure.

The first, first time I played it was on a demo disc that also had Bushido Blade. It was cool but I forgot about it. Then I played it a bit on a friend's computer right after it came out. I then immediately got it for PS1 but can't remember the details. I can't imagine my parents being able to afford it new but they must have unless I borrowed it from a friend and never gave it back.

PS1 after playing FFX. Back then I didn't like 7, but replayed it maybe 2-3 years ago and it's good.

I played it when it came out. I remember thinking it would be awesome - but I got REALLY annoyed at the long load times and WAY overdone battle animations. That pretty much killed it for me.

On PS3 with the PS4 controller. Haven't gotten very far, don't care for it too much, hopefully it begins to interest me more. I'll play more once exams are over, hopefully.

Voted option 2. I think it was 2006 or 2007, but to me it feels more like 'long ago' than 'in the last ten years.' I think I stopped right at the entrance to the final dungeon of Disc 1.
