Seeing an Attack on Titan topic reminded me of this. Did anyone else like that show? I was always sad that G4 got good then died. It's still on in Canada, but the last time I saw it all they were doing was airing reruns of shows from other networks. I realize AotS reruns would have outdated references and news now, but that's still probably better.

I knew someone who interned at G4 near the end of its lifespan. He said every day they'd have them dress up in weird outfits or have stuff thrown at them on camera.

Sounds like fun times.

Adam Sessler reminds me of this annoying guy I'd later work with who'd talk about how hot his mom was and claiming to be straight yet obsessing over this other male co-worker having dinner with him at his parents' house (in a creepy, Norman Bates way). It would be out of the blue, like "you know what would be funny..." But then there's the alleged vagina sniffing incident, where he was busted trying to smell that same guy's g/f's vagina when she climbed a ladder. Maybe he wanted to check out the competition? I dunno. He probably has a basement full of stolen body parts.

AotS and X-Play were the best. It's a shame G4 destroyed them for no reason. I mean, they were going to become Esquire network or whatever, but that went to another channel IIRC.

I wonder what the whole story is. Did G4 start to lose money so they were going to rebrand, or was the rebranding discussion what ruined it entirely?

I think their audience wasn't bringing in enough money. They had to get shows like Cops and Ninja Warrior and then the money started pouring in more.

Adam Sessler says to this day that he was never given an explanation why he was removed from XPlay. Just that one day, he was booted from the show.

I remembered when it was The Screen Savers.

And I remember when G4 used to be watchable, long before it merged with Tech-TV.

But now, I am glad that the channel no longer exists, since when Charles Hirschhorn resigned, the new CEO completely destroyed it, and turned it into pure shit.

What they really needed to do, if they wanted viewers, mix the content up in 1-hour blocks. Have their own shows for an hour, then Campus PD for an hour, and alternate. YouTube makes it sort of redundant, but not really.
