The second (classic) stage in the FF8 event, and its elite counterpart, have a non-standard medal condition: instead of the usual "don't get KOed", they have "use a lightning attack on a Terminator". If you don't bring a lightning attack, you can't get mastery. So if you're used to auto-battling through all the low tier stuff (as I was)... well, you'll have to pay a bit of attention this time around. (And if you're counting on, like, Valigarmander/Tritoch, don't waste it on the first wave, which has only Soldiers - no Terminators until the second and third waves.)

Not a problem for me since I always read the condition before setting up my party gears and abilities before the fight, be it classic or elite. But that's a dickish move from DeNA.

Man I brought Squall to every dungeon in the current event and his Gunblade record materia never dropped. Also ever since the daily dungeons updated I've brought him to the FF4/8 dungeon on Tuesday and it never dropped there, I just assumed that realm specific RM don't drop in mixed dungeons but now I think this RM is probably insanely rare or something.

I want Lionheart so badly but I need this stupid RM first.

I can wait. The longer they take, the more new relics enter the pool. For instance, if it doesn't drop today, it will contain Rinoa's new armor, which I'd love to have for my Maria, since it's rare Earth+ armor.

I just beat that with the CM too.

Man, freakin' Sentinel helped so much for this with getting Cecil tank in all the damage.
Also very glad I have his OSB because I was out of abilities on Rydia, who was my main DPS, before that finished him off.

Sorcerer gauntlet was cake, even on Apocalypse+. But that's cool, having a breather once in a while is nice.

Beat the ultimates, didn't master the apocalypse+ through because they waaaay too much fucking HP.

Adel is pretty tough for an regular ultimate fight, but Vaan's burst nulled her spells and Prishe brought the DPS to make short work of her before she could use Ultima too much.

Tri-Point was pretty easy with my mage team, Rinoa switched between chain fiagra/blizzaga and when she had meter she used her burst when he was weak to ice and did big damage. He does get mega spark happy so equip lightning resisting relics to mitigate his damage.

BGH251F2 is such a annoyingly drawn out battle, and you need to keep magic mitigation up at all times because BGH loves to spam nukes lasers, and since he has so much HP you'll eat a lot of his Ultimate Beam Cannon unless you have Oralndeau's OSB or Shantoto's BSB to make short work of it. I tried a mage team at first but both my ley lines RW ran out when I get to the soldier part and my summons weren't doing damage, and if you hit the captain with black magic he counters with party slowga. I switched to physical and finally made use of Kain's BSB, Vaan kept BGH's magic spells down and Kain did the damage with his burst and lightning dives, but the soldiers are the problem again, I had Prishe as my semi healer and used her super for last stand which was extremely useful because of their Ultimate Short fuse (3000 aoe piercing physical damage on 3 bosses? So fucking cheap) Ugh, I don't know if I can master this one unless I get some insanely good relics on the upcoming lucky draws.

Orlandu's BSB grants a net +56% Atk; even above the soft cap, BSB-OSB-OSB outdamages OSB x3. (The BSB Cmd1 offers a weak Atk/Def debuff, too). However, because Orlandu's charge times are so long, I wouldn't recommend using his BSB without Powerchain or TG Mode available. Say, fill up to three-ish bars, then OSB, Lifesiphon x2, BSB, Cmd1, OSB, OSB, Cmd1, OSB?

Hailstorm is probably part of the modern TGC as well, since it's a two-hit ability that offers a stacking Attack buff.

Whew, managed to beat Asura and Leviathan Apocalypse+ even after the event ended from just getting in the battle and staying in there. Barely got the Master as well.

It was all about getting mitigation up before having anyone die, then it wasn't too bad of a fight. Helps that FFIV is my best realm, though I'm still lacking in physical armor for it.

So I'm READING a bit about these THINGS that JP HAS called Full Throttle FIGHTS.

It's these new 300 difficulty fights where you start out with 3 Full Bars of SB but you can't refill them, that's all you get for the entire fight.

So it's nice that you don't have to use a slot for Lifesiphon/Wrath nor do you have to put Dr. Mog's Teachings/Mako Might or Ace Striker/Battleforged for your RM.

Great for magic users that normally don't get Lifesiphon or Wrath. Hopefully, they're not stupidly long fights.

Full Throttle fights are torment dungeons aren't they? The bosses and enemies probably have huge amounts of HP so three bars is probably way too little to actually clear them unless you have uber relics. I read horror stories about d300 Belias being too much of a tank even with Cloud's USB.

Also another way to boost Orlandeau's OSB/BSB is to have him use infusion RWs. I kept Kain's burst as my RW even though I planned to change it back to Raines' BSB but I saw it being summoned like 12 times today, and then I read on forums Orlandeau/Lightning users were looking for it or Raijin's BSB to quickly kill Apocalypse BGH251F2.

Murdered Adel and Tri-Point. Mage team for Tri-Point (outside of Squall, who I used for spellblade + OSB, and dancer Tyro) pretty much obliterated him. Took Lulu as I had her burst, and never actually had to use it.

Not quite sure of the team I need for Iron Clad. Thinking two healers to deal with the damage from the 3 soldiers after the tank blows up. Though one of the healers may be a hybrid, just with a healing BSB. They'll join Orlandu, Tyro, and...........I don't know who the last member will be yet.

Yuna's USB was the MVP in this fight. Last Stand raised up Shantotto 3 times I believe (might have been 4), and provided a few hastegas after my second VoF ran out. Not the greatest build, Quetz was only doing 4k over both hits combined, and Yuna was outta hones fairly quickly. Fight seemed to take literally 20 minutes (I should've timed it), not one of the more fun ones. Oh well, over and done with thankfully.

D200 FF 5 torment mastered. Brought no AOE, oops. Thankfully, was able to whittle them all down, but it took quite some time. 3 of the 4 rounds of trash, I got 5 of those pig things, so that was ridiculous. Not sure I'm up to trying D250 anytime soon.

Swapped Vaan for Ramza so I could have native shout, honed Blood of the Dragoon for Kain so he could do quick lighting dives, and swapped protectga on Y'shtola for Power Breakdown. I used Lightning BSB2 for RW, used it first early to give BGH imperial so Kain could do heavy damage, then used it on the soldiers so they could have a lightning weakness and wiped out the weaker ones with Kain's aoe BSB, and then used my party's breaks and Lightning dived the Captain to death.

Over these 6 Nightmare Lucky Draws, I have gotten 15 relics, five of which were 6* (Rinoa OSB on Summon, Gilgamesh OSB on Combat, Terra OSB on Black, Selphie and Eiko USBs on White). It may be true that these banners are an attempt to trick Mythril out of people before Cloud USB shows up, but I'm feeling pretty good nevertheless!

White's not just for healers as some Paladins and sages are also 5* white magic users. I got Minfilia's burst and some people got Kuja/Exdeath/Beatrix relics. I still think it's worth drawing for an attempt at those relics.

Same reason as the XI event came back and we are getting crazy amounts of mythril. Apparently some people were locked out of the game for like a week plus by a black screen issue during those events

There was a login issue that some people couldn't open the game on certain devices, and Dena fixed it and gave users who were locked out of the game another chance to do the events that were going on while that problem was on.

Ultimates beaten

Necrophobe is cake, used summons to kill the skulls quickly, and Raines and Alphinaud tore Necrophobe apart in seconds with their quick burst commands. Poor guy's weak to everything but dark.

Gogo was easy, but you have to know the gimmick to making him happy/mad. He actually uses magic instead of waiting for you to stand still like the other fights, and he wants you to hit him with the same spell he used, but you need fiagra/meteor/holy/flare. But he does so much damage you need RM with blink/shell to survive it so it's just easier to make him mad and defend on the first turn (when he gets mad he fully recovers anyway) Standard magic based boss after that, if you have Vaan's BSB he gets clowned (pun intended)

Twintania is the first easy Apocalypse+ boss, like Gogo he's a primarily magic based boss and he's just one single boss this time unlike the last Apoc+'s so all you really have to do is keep magic breaking him so his aoe spells don't do too much damage, and bring Ultra cure in case he paralyzes someone. Having power breakdown helps too but it isn't essential.

Omniscient Apocalypse beaten, with Raines and Papalymo's bursts this was pretty much tailor made for them. It's nice to not be kicked at all from randoms since this boss is magic only and everyone wants Raines on the team.

Apparently there's a chance the DU could exclude the recent VIII and V relics. The datamined announcement says there are no items released after 5/9.
This could just be a copy-paste error from the previous DU, but it might be safer to take a look at the relic list before pulling, just in case.

Not sure if I'm being dumb and missing something, but I was looking to get Ceodore's Memory Crystals from the Hall of Rites because I got his BSB, and I can't find him listed under Memory Crystal II (even though he's listed under Memory Crystal III). Am I doing something wrong or is he not listed there for anyone else?

If you didn't get his MC2 from the event you have to wait until an update to the Hall of Rites to get a recent character's MC1/2. They add their MC3 to the HoR on that character's event on Sundays through.

sometimes new characters get their MC3 in the hall right away, but usually you have to earn the MC1 and 2 from the event or wait several weeks for them to be added to the hall
