I saw a few other topics that were a couple days old and weren't gaining any traffic so I'm making a new one.

I've been playing a bit. It's fun but frustrating at times.
I like challenge but I'm not sure this one is doing it right because I don't get the urge to keep trying like other hard games.

It's good for sure though.

Also I just saw a picture online that had turrets Glooed to the ground and I couldn't believe I didn't think of that.
I guess that works to keep them from getting knocked around but I won't know until I try.

I keep hearing about Prey and I was thoroughly confused as to why people were talking about a horror game from like 10 years ago until I looked it up and realized there's a new game by that name out now. x-x

It's very different. (From what I hear. I never played the original Prey)

People have called it Bioshock/ Systemshock in space or Bioschock Prop Hunt. The Prop Hunt comparison is pretty funny.

Systemshock in space

bruh

Also, I'm interested in it because of the BS/SS comparisons, but have no idea what the fuck it's like. And this is the second time I've seen it called Prop Hunt, so I'm really curious about that now. Watched the first half hour of a LP, but that didn't tell me much since it was mostly tutorial.

I probably misquoted. Maybe. There is a chance others have said it not knowing the setting of SystemShock.

There is a demo you can DL and play on consoles but I don't think they released one on PC. It's the Mimics that make it like Prop Hunt. They can change into anything and do a really good job of keeping you on you edge.

Ah, got it. I knew about the mimics, but I was wondering if it was some major aspect of the game that made it like Prop Hunt lol

You end up smacking a lot of inanimate objects with a wrench so see if they are alive and sometimes they won't outright attack you but run of and change into something else to ambush you again. It's done really well.

I played the game right after release and thought it was below average. Haven't touched it again since.

Didn't realize there was a new one.

I think the game has some honest flaws and criticisms and it won't be for everyone.
Also, it's quirky like older games that give you a lot of choice and options.
I also don't think i'm doing a very good job explaining it.

Best descriptive example I can give is that I have played it for 3 1/2 hours and I have watch two other people play it on Twitch. All 3 of us did completely different things and played differently while exploring different places and obtaining different items and abilities at a different rate.

There are a good amount of secrets already and plot slows down early on and moves slowly but if you take the time to read things and explore there is a lot. The down side to that is the game doesn't encourage stopping to enjoy some exploration and light reading due to the constant danger.
