Women who are awaiting their trial for "low level drug charges, loitering, etc." With those charges and that much money you should be able to free a lot more than "more than 30". People smoking weed here never get arrested, because there are no cops around to arrest them. While in black neighbourhoods there's a lot more cop cars fishing for arrests to make - the same "crime", walking around smoking weed, gets them caught and punished there because there are cops around. Thus, cops get to say that more crimes happen in black neighbourhoods, which justifies them patrolling them more, which gets more black people arrested for the same shit that people do on my street all the time. I don't care if you're black, white, hispanic, or whatever; if you break the law, you deserve to be punished accordingly. Now, with all trolling aside, I'll tell you my honest opinion on this matter... I would think it likely that most of these women will be proven guilty of the crimes they allegedly committed. But the fact is, they are currently innocent. If they can post bail, or if someone can post it for them, they are, by law, free to go. And isn't it a good thing that at least these few women will be able to spend Mother's Day with their children? In time, our legal system will do its job, and I trust these women will be properly punished if they are found guilty. But they're mothers. They have children. Letting them have this time before their trial to be with their families is fine by me.
