Given how many advantages are in the game next tribal, I think a Cambodia scenario is likely again with either Troyzan or Aubry getting fucked, given their edits. Probably Aubry because she doesn't have an idol.

On the plus side, this season's F6 still beats Cambodia's, if only because Tasha/Spencer were absolute shit and Keith/Kimmi got completely purpled. At least this season only has Sarah as absolute shit with two purpled players. Tai/Cirie/Brad are still amazeballs.

I don't know if amazeballs is the word I'd use. I love Cirie more than most and even I haven't really been feeling her that much this season. She hasn't been as on point in confessionals and hasn't really been 'fun', or at least that side of her has hardly come through.

The last 15 minutes of this episode was SO GOOD though. Other than that it was very mediocre.

I will say, I'm super glad Aubry made the finale again, especially after everyone though she would be toast coming off of Kaoh Rong.

Would have been nice to get more than 5 confessionals from her.

The edit is doing a decent job of telling us why Aubry doesnt win at least - no one really trusts her and all of her strategems have blown up for reasons having nothing to do with her.

Even if it is such a season (still hope), why is it one of THOSE seasons? She's not a big enough character to warrant a "this is why they lost" season. Surely there were more compelling stories out there.

Theres also the fact that no strategic alignment has lasted longer than like 2 episodes so there dont feel like there are a lot if close friendships (and the ones that do exist like Aubry/andrea got 0 screentime)

This is the problem with modern Survivor. I'm not saying I want Pagongings, because that leads to seasons like RI/SP/OW...but modern Survivor seems to be all about betraying people ASAP so you get credit for making a big move. That makes it difficult for the editors to craft a coherent narrative because allegiances are so fluid. This hurts character development and means relationships can completely vanish without reason.

Pagonging seasons can still be fun strategically as long as there's SOME wrench thrown in there to screw it up and/or keep it suspenseful (see: Exile Island).

Pagongings tend to have solid early seasons, good merge ep, are eh for an ep ir 2 and then get pretty good again as long as the pagonging tribe is interesting.

It just puts a lot of pressure on casting to make it interesting.

I am gonna go a limb and say Sarah is the Russel Hantz this season despite having some moments thay make her likable (at least to me). And if I were to predict the finale I think I agree with Inviso (despite Inviso's constant bashing on Cambodia. that is a gimmick so old that it borders on annoying) that we get some kind of Cambodia Final 6 scenario that boots Aubry. Then we lose Cirie. Then we lose Tai at the final four when no idols can save him and Sarah get second to Brad if Brad doesn't clean sweep.

In fact, the seen in the Andrea tribal council and Sarah talks about awarded gameplay despite being burned and you see Ozzy gives a dirty look is like fodder to my theory.

Like, I don't think I've ever been more bored during a season, and I'm currently rewatching Thailand.

Brad winning would be perfect due to the Funny 115's write-up on his first go-around. He really is just a nice guy. Of course, in this day and age, that's the mark of DOOM.

I really enjoyed the 2nd half of this episode. I was watching with a friend and we were both going nuts when Cirie tried to play the advantage and kept going nuts for the rest of it.

I also find Sarah and most of the rest of the remaining survivors very emotionless, and I'm going to miss Michaela because of it.

Amazing premerge imo, very shitty post merge with a good final 7 tribal imo.

If only Hali had stripped.

Really, the second part needed to be its own episode. And that's the biggest problem with a 13-person merge. What they really need to do is make the double boot episode pre-merge and then have the editors figure out where the best place to cram a boot in post-merge is, be it somewhere in the middle or just do a 6-person finale. But the current set-up forces them to do both.

The fact that Michaela of all people wasn't even remotely surprised that she got voted out means SOMETHING happened that we weren't made privy to, and that's a damn shame.
